I already had a feebas I'd walked 20km, (I was about to evolve it when a better one came along) but there are no whismurs here at all. DS and I drove around last night checking all the good spawning spots and keeping an eye on the Nearby, but nothing.
Having had a sneak at the coming tasks online this one could be taking a while anyway.

I think checking further steps in the quest is definitely the way to go. I’m still doing the Mew quest. I evolved Magikarp 3 days before I got that as a task. Today I got to 398 candies when I went out for a lunchtime walk and did a Rayquaza raid. Rayquaza is literally the only creature I can successfully Curveball. Today I even got an ‘excellent’. And now I have walked the 2 candies I needed and evolve Magikarp... to get a throw excellent curveball task in the next round! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Been to 3 different places today- 2 yesterday- no whismur anywhere! Urgh

Given I've got to walk a Feebas 20K I'm sanguine about there not being all that many Whismur's about!

I am seriously pissed off, I've caught like 10 Pokemon and yet my special research hasn't recorded a single one. It's still showing as 24 out of 25 caught.

Which Pokemon have or are people using shinnoh stones on? I have a 100%iv piloswine ready to level up when I next run an egg but not sure what others are worth while evolving.

Still on the first part of the new special research, just one stop to spin and it's complete. I think I'm going to fall short of the Lapras from the jump start research task. Have only just come back from a bit of a break and I've got to wait until Wednesday before I can challenge a trainer in the great league.

Caught all my whismur and just got 3.5k to walk with feebas till the next stage!

@DeathMetalMum wow! An avalanche mamoswine will be a great Pokémon to have.

Weaviles are excellent dark/ ice attackers of you get a good sneasel.
Roserades are worth having as grass and poison types, and an electavire is a good electric counter.
I'd evolve a shiny murkrow too if I had one. It's an okay dark/ flying attacker but would look so cool in a gym.

I'm actually thinking of giving my best weaviles two charged attacks but I doubt I'll ever have enough candies.
