I caught both Smeargles in exactly the same location indoors, so think perhaps that isn't significant. I just worked my way through my stored Pokemon, taking one photo of each, until it appeared.

Caught a shiny Rattata

I’ve clicked on every bloody rattata and pidgey and not seen a shiny one!

Have got flower crown eevee and pikachu though so all good

I literally jumped up and down with excitement!

It’s my first legendary shiny, my DC seem to get loads of Shinies from raids but I’ve been unlucky forever so this makes up for it.

Where are those fecking shiny pidgeys and rattatas hiding today. I need them!

What is more important when it comes to battling?

IV or CP.

For example, I’ve got a marowak with IV of 90% but a CP of 189

Yet I’ve got another one with the IV at 76% and a CP of 1010

I used to be in the habit of evolving my highest CP when I was just collecting and filling up my Pokédex but now I’m trying to get better fighters

Soubs personally I'd mince both of those Marowak and evolve my best Cubone. But to answer your question, in the long run IV is more important. The problem is your 189CP 90%IV Marowak is going to take too much Candy/Stardust to get it to a decent level.

In shiny news I had a good day: an orange dog thing and a Roselia mean I'm up to 86 shinies.

Does the flower eevee evolve into a jolteon/vaporeon etc with a flower headdress too? I have more than one so will try it next evolve session if so. Also don't have a smeargle despite taking loads of photos. On a plus note I did get a Latias in my first legendary raid today. I only normally do raids I can solo (don't want to join raid groups) but I was doing a raid to get clamperl (leftover research task from w/e). I was going to exit out of the raid at the start when a big group turned up and all started raiding. Latias was defeated and thankfully I caught him as I don't suppose I'll get another chance (unless they make him the reward for research tasks).

Still don't have a ruddy smeagle, dd has hers from the first pic.

Anyone find the taking photos thing a real pain? I can't get the yellow footprint to appear most of the time. I'm using flat spaces e.g. my living room, my outdoor patio.

DS of course already has 6 smeargles, 3 per account.
I've got the one for the Dex and now can't be bothered. It's nearly as boring as catching meltans from the special box.

And trainer battles. They're pretty boring too.
