Shiny new thread!

I'm loving the new special research. I'm not loving that none of my Pikachu have been shiny. Harrumph (Dr)

Mostly good days for all!
I only got a shiny bulbasaur but lots of dratini, charmander and beldun. Hurrah.

I caught 1 shiny Bulbasaur and 6 shiny Beldum in 2 hours. (I accidentally booked grocery delivery at the wrong time)

Tumpy I did the egg and opened everyone about to level up at about 10.05 ish - did it not work then?

I got 2 beldum, 2 dratini, a cyndaquil, a charmander, a pikachu, and a larvitar. I also traded for an emocharizard. Not a bad day all told.

ContraryToPopularBelief It doesn’t take an hour for the notification to show; it doesn’t even take five minutes. They’ll have opened the gift later than they said they would.

Hi wurzel no ours hasn't triggered. But don't worry I'm going to go back out tomorrow with a lucky egg at some stage to search for a shiny eevee. Do you want to try and coordinate egg timings? I'm podsy68.

No @WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue it was me who opened the gift. They didn't have one to open or send. I saw I would go ultra (no blue halo) in 1 day. Popped an egg. Opened the gift. An hour later got the notification.

ContraryToPopularBelief The notification isn’t what triggers the XP; it’s fairly irrelevant, it’s just a notice. Opening the gift will have triggered the XP and with a lucky egg on you will have received your double XP.

You haven’t missed out on 50,000XP; you will have got you double XP, just not the notification.

Finally finished Celebi task last night, thank goodness. Just a cubone to hunt for now for the other one...

The shinies I got yesterday were all within that 3 hr period, is there still a heightened chance of catching them now (compared to non-community events) or are we back to normal expectations (eg for me highly unlikely!)

There’s still a higher than normal chance of catching a shiny throughout the event, Belle, so until 7am tomorrow.

Saw a pink mareep but I had no pokeballs to catch it! Gutted. Could see it was a shiny though, thought you could only tell once you'd already caught them though.
