Hello all, delurking because of all the ultra chat! I added a few of you as friends I'm agonydoc. How can you tell when you're about to go ultra? I already missed the boat with one friend.

I gave up for ages and restarted a month ago, now well and truly hooked again but struggling to finish the quests. I walked an eevee for 10k and then evolved it at 3.30pm and it turned into an umbreon instead . It was a bit dark, but it's Yorkshire in the winter -it seems to be dark and rainy most of the time! Do I need to do it at midday?

I’m on your list to go ultra and happy to wait until Saturday. Does that mean I just avoid all contact until then, E.g. not send any gifts?

@cathyandclare if you click on friends and select a friend from the list, there are little circles/hearts in the top left corner... click on the next one that is partially coloured and it will tell you how many days to go assuming you interact with them eg opening gifts or raiding, trading together

cathyandclare If you click on the little hearts it tells you how many days until you hit the next friendship level.

It’s when it says 1 day you need to be careful. If you have already interacted with that friend on that day (gift/trade/battle/raid) there will be a blue circle background around them, and 1 day means you will go up the next level tomorrow.

If you haven’t interacted (so no blue background), 1 day means you go up to the next level today.

I’m pretty sure it’s based on light levels in the game, so if it’s dark in game you will get Umbreon. If it’s light in game you get Espeon. You also need to make sure Eevee is still your buddy when you evolve.

@Anomandaris, have asked TheFrankster and he is happy to do the 10am Saturday thing.

Can anyone suggest how I can make an Excellent Curve Ball throw to complete a quest I've had open since forever?! I used to be able to do curve balls regularly but never do them now - not sure what's changed??

@katmunchkin I did mine purely by chance yesterday - on a Mr Mime of all things!

Obvs they're easier on larger 'mon, but I think sometimes it's fluke rather than skill. I did loads that I was convinced were excellent, but weren't even Nice, and then yesterday I just didn't even try, and got the excellent curve. Will probably never do it again though! 😂😂

Also apologies to anyone I've accidentally gone ultra with - I must learn to check before I open / send gifts

@katmunchkin try an onyx. They have huge circles and you can count them down and throw so you catch them on the smallest. They're around in raid battles at the moment.

@Anomandaris Silke will join in the 10am opening.
Might I suggest that everyone puts eggs on at 10am but opens the gifts at 10:05 or even 10:10? It'll avoid disappointment caused by over enthusiasm or clocks running fast/ slow.
