Sorry, another one! How do you know a Pokémon is shiny? Do you have to catch it first and then it goes shiny, or do you know it's shiny because of something else?
Tinkerbellisnotafairy You will know the second you click on a Pokemon if it’s shiny or not. When you encounter a Pokemon that’s shiny, loads of stars flash around the Pokemon to indicate that it’s shiny. It also has a three star symbol next to its name (like the little cloud weather boost icon).
Most shinies are obvious due to their colour differences (ie. shiny Ponyta has a blue flame not orange, shiny Pineco is gold not green) but some are a little harder to tell (shiny Plusle only has a slight colour difference in the red, shiny Bulbasaur is only a slightly different shade of green).
Once you’ve caught it, you also get a double warning before attempting to transfer it and it has three stars in the main Pokemon screen to indicate it is shiny too. So it’s very hard to accidentally transfer it.
Outside of community day events and events with increased Pokemon spawns, shiny Pokemon are very rare to come across.
