Shiny new thread

No event as such but bug theme for the month.

There is an event in Taiwan this weekend and that's why the shiny pinsirs were released, I think.

Yep, the Tainan safari zone, similar to the events we had in the summer with roselia and so on.

Caught 2 shiny Pinsar, they’re everywhere in London! Not so many in Glasgow but I had 10 spawn in Euston.

The short stay apartment I’m in is on top of a Pokestop but I guess most places in Zone 1 are!

Did what I've always dreaded but so far avoided. Transferred a Tropius I'd just been traded when I meant to assess it. At least it's registered in the Pokedex but but that's all. So stupid and so frustrating.

But more positively I did well with my Gengars and Pinsirs and collected a few new shinys.

Tons of pinsirs here too but no shinies yet ...

However DS caught a shiny Pinsir worth 2247, which more than made up for it.
And I got a shiny Rosalea in the 300s.

BaronessBomburst When determining a Pokemon’s worth and how good it is, CP is largely irrelevant.

How good a Pokemon is depends on their IV, not their CP. CP only relates to the level they are, and that can be changed, whereas IV is ingrained, determined at catch and cannot be changed (unless traded, but you can’t get it back then anyway).

The eldest ended up with 9 shiny pinsir before she gave up and went home. Smug child is smug. She is also prepared to share with the rest of us, so is a good sort really.

I am finding that my adventure sync isn't actually syncing. I walked 12km today and yet PoGo has only registered 500m.

dillite Have you enabled Adventure Sync in your settings? I would double check that.

@WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue or indeed anyone else, can you explain IVs to me. For example, I've tried putting my Machamp into an online calculator thing but it comes back telling me that there are no possible IV for those values, or if I add in the stardust, that I'm a level 28. I'm a 25.
I have sussed out move sets though and he now has counter and dynamic punch!
I'm very proud of my Machamp.

If you’re on Android it’s really easy as you can check IV directly in your PoGo app. If you have an iPhone then you screenshot a picture of the mom you want to IV check and upload it in PokeGenie to find the IV.

what yes my adventure sync is enabled and it even tells me how much I have walked. It just doesn't seem to count towards my egg when the game is just left to run in the background. I wonder whether it's just a glitch.
