Just did a raid with my gang and we tried the don't press ok button till everyone has finished catching it and we had 5/7 players who caught it so did seem to be more than usual.

Bimblesalong · 13/08/2017 17:12

Ah, interesting. We had a largish group but sadly it didn't work for us. :(

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 13/08/2017 20:10

Ruhrpott It depends on what movesets they have. If there's any specifically you're interested in changing just let me know what they have and I can tell you if it's worth it or not.

Rhydon I wouldn't use any TMs on though, as it evolves into Rhyperior in Gen 4 so its moves will change then anyway.

Congrats on Zapdos, PokemonGo!

Bimblesalong You're welcome Smile Congrats on your Legendaries and your Unown/Kangas!

That's coincidence; that's just one of those things that go around. It's not actually true.

We had a largish group but sadly it didn't work for us.

Because it doesn't work Grin

Placemarking for new thread!

Been away on holiday which was nice but sadly Pokémon free...
Annoying that it coincided with zapdos and moltres, and the kanga/unown event. I might get a chance to pop over to Glasgow but looking unlikely before the 21st.

Sounds like most of you are stacking up on the special releases though, so I'll live vicariously through the success of the group!

PikachuHeadgear · 13/08/2017 23:56

Well, my 2 hours in Birmingham yielded 1 uknown. Ended up going with DP which hampered my pokemoning somewhat.

I'm off work this week so my plan is an all out assault for a Zapdos tomorrow. Then I think I am going to succumb to a trip to Manchester on Tuesday (alone!) to get Kangaskhan and the rest of the uknowns. It's what time off work is for isn't it? Grin

Red Gary is doing in just fine gyms, he regularly comes back bearing coins, and he looks lovely circling away at the top of a gym

Well done to everyone who has already got a Zapdos, jealous!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 13/08/2017 23:58

PikachuHeadgear Good luck getting a Zapdos!

PikachuHeadgear · 14/08/2017 00:42

thank you WhatToDo, my fingers are crossed!

MuddlingMackem · 14/08/2017 02:36

Haven't managed to do many raids thanks to the school holidays, but I have managed to nab one each of Articuno and Zapdos, and DS managed to get a Moltres, so I suppose we should be happy. I also at least have a shadow on the dex for a Lugia rather than a blank space, so that's good too.

However, I did finally manage to hatch a Tangela so, excluding legendaries and regionals, Gen 1 is now complete. It's frustrating that I can't get to anywhere which is running the event as once I evolve my Tyranitar Unown will be the only one I need for Gen 2, again excluding regionals and legendaries.

Mewtwo is being unleashed at the Pokémon Go event in Japan!

No news when he goes worldwide.

I could really do with a legendary break. I spent an hour walking round and round a park, ditched 70 revives and turned them mostly into balls. What I'm needing right now is potions. (Yes, I know no-one is making me raid but it's fun and there's lots of goodies and points to be had)

eyebrowsonfleek · 14/08/2017 10:33

Japan are having 100% catch rate for Mewtwo at the event.

That CP 😱

eyebrowsonfleek · 14/08/2017 10:35

Apparently you get 50 Premier balls. Somehow I don't think I'm going to be able to catch him as the catch rate will be ridiculously low.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 14/08/2017 10:36

Ooh Mewtwo! That'll be fun when it gets released worldwide Grin

Here's a good trick: just revive all your pokemon, don't potion them, then fight on half health. I do this all the time and it's a really good way to fight lots of gyms and do lots of raids without potions.

Ruhrpott · 14/08/2017 10:41

I want that mewtwo!

Soubriquet · 14/08/2017 13:28

Where did you see 100% catch rate?

I've been hearing 1%

eyebrowsonfleek · 14/08/2017 14:11

100% is for people at the event in Japan.

Mewtwo Coming to Exclusive Raid Battles Soon!

Trainers,

Earlier today, Trainers battled against the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo at the Pokémon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan. Thousands of Trainers in attendance were able to successfully catch Mewtwo and add it to their Pokédexes. In the coming weeks, you, too, will have the opportunity to battle and catch Mewtwo with the new Exclusive Raid Battle feature.

Exclusive Raid Battles are similar to existing Raid Battles, with a few notable differences. Exclusive raids will periodically appear at Gyms around the world; however, unlike existing raids, Trainers will be invited to join an Exclusive Raid Battle. To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

Mewtwo is the first Pokémon that Trainers will be able to face in Exclusive Raid Battles, but other powerful Pokémon may also start to hatch from the Raid Eggs found at Exclusive Raid Battles over the next several weeks. Make sure you’re prepared to battle Mewtwo by powering up your Pokémon and battling in raids at Gyms near you!

Legendary Pokémon Take Flight
Over the past three weeks, thousands of Legendary Pokémon have been defeated in Raid Battles around the world. In celebration of this achievement and to give Trainers another chance to catch Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia, all four of these Legendary Pokémon can be battled in Raid Battles from August 14 through August 31. Be on the lookout for these Legendary Pokémon at a raid near you!

Icouldbeknitting · 14/08/2017 14:33

It looks like it's time for me to farm for some more potions then.

eyebrowsonfleek · 14/08/2017 18:15

I'm going to get more Tyranitars in preparation for Mewtwo

wartortle · 14/08/2017 18:25

The obly problem with doing raids on half health is that if all your pokemon are knocked out and you have to renter the battle your damage resets so unless everyones are knocked out you lose out on damage balls. So while I revive everything I try to fully heal my main fighters before each raid.

Bimblesalong · 14/08/2017 19:49

Does the unown event finish on 21st? Been to London for the day with family. Train leaves in ten and the missing unown has popped up. Bugger. No way can I risk missing the train and although we've got day tickets I can't ask the family to step off and get a later train 😁😁😁😁😁

eyebrowsonfleek · 14/08/2017 20:13

Don't waste potions of Blissey and Chansey if you're like me and sick of them being suggested for legendary raids.

Icouldbeknitting · 14/08/2017 20:38

I put my Blissey and Chanceys in gyms just so they would faint and be sidelined. I don't mind swapping them out at the start of a raid but as we're usually short handed and when I faint out and go round again one would occasionally sneak in.

Tomorrow I've planned a solid hour of potion farming which should be sixty stops. I must pick something up other than red balls and revives.

Jfw82 · 14/08/2017 21:13

Yes ends in London on 21st- I used the London pogo map last week when I was there for a day and got 3.

Loving that legendary birds available rest of this month- managed to join a moltres raid, justified the special trip out as needing to buy my 8 month old more teething gel... I didn't drag my baby out just for that 😂😂😂
