Loving Andrew the Sandshrew funny what's rare elsewhere - I have lots of Sandslashes. Always makes me think about doing a wee on the beach 'sandslash'

I've nearly finished gen 2 but got lots of walking to do for the last few.

Most of my sandshews came from eggs, but I've seen a couple of wilds too. They're fairly rare, but I've managed to evolve two sandslashes. My local woods must have been a nest a couple of times. I'm a very long way from sand more significant than a sand pit!

I think I must find nests every so often at parks as I'm not near sand either. There's a lone one every morning at Euston station at the moment. Must be catching the train to the beach

I'm as far from the beach as you can be in the UK and have had Sandshrew nest at the local woods too.

They're not in eggs anymore, unfortunately. Haven't been for a while.

Also, a Sandshrew's natural spawn location isn't actually the beach; it's farmland and quarry.

Yeah, they can of course spawn anywhere. It's just their natural spawn locations are farmland and quarrys.

Now walking Grimer- that's if I don't get a Muk from a raid before I reach 50 candies. Which seems more likely as I am only on 10 candies currently

Finally got another 10k today so hopefully something good, though knowing my luck with them it will be sudowoodo or skarmory! Also used gym coins to upgrade my bag storage which will hopefully let me stock up on some potions!

Yeah, it was back at the beginning of June, so if you have an egg from before then you have a chance, otherwise not.

I never seem to get anything good out of an egg! Walking a 10k and a 2k at the mo, would like a bulbasaur and a shoelaces but will probably end up with a krabby and a militank.

I saw two sandshrews on a beach, hatched 2 and caught 1 somewhere random I think. I live on farmland and I don't think one has ever spawned at home (whilst I've been there). Saying that it's mostly orchards & coppiced. Found a Stantler in the weeds a few weeks ago.

At big shopping centre today, I CBA with the raids, but I'm stocking up on balls and potions

It works on whether Pokemon Go records it as farmland or not, and if it's residential, it probably doesn't.

Interesting. I thought sandslash's biome was desert....

In other news, I caught a second shiny magicarp. DH is LIVID, as he's not got one yet.
I have promised to swap if they ever introduce trading...

Huh. No legendaries or shinies. Enough sodding karp about just no shiny ones.

Yeah, I'm ok for sandshrew candy. I find it hard to get some of the ones that some people have no problems with - like, I've only ever seen two eggcecute in the wild and walked mine for AGES until I picked up eggcecutor on a raid. Ditto Grimer/Muk.

I took a detour on the way back from the hairdresser to pick up a Flaafy today. Pineap'd it and got a lovely 10 candies - that'll do nicely!

It's probably over now, but in future, you want to use Ground and Psychic

As we get closer to Mewtwo being released, you'll want to do as many raids as possible on many different gyms to increase the chance of being invited.

I went to a raid earlier and it turned out to be a Lugia. I waited 20 minutes for others to show but nobody did. I walked away just a little bit disappointed.

I tested my new phone today. At 1pm I switched on PoGo and went out/ The battery was 99% full. I played for about 2 hours, and the battery was down to 56%. My last phone, an Alcatel Pixi4 6", would've been out by now. I attached my charger and carried on playing. Half an hour later it was at 68% charged. I stopped the app while I had a sanga and when I checked it was 83% charged.

I love my new phone. It's great to look at, and people are properly shocked by the ringtone.

My new pogo plus was delivered today. Went for a quick drive round town to test it out and it's great.

So...

This week I've changed the way I play completely. I've been playing since day 1 and had vowed to spend almost no money on the game, to NEVER use scanners or any third party assistance. With the introduction of the legendary raids I soon realised that my method of play wasn't going to work anymore so I've done a 180 and am now on a couple of Facebook groups, am using discord including the scanner and have even shelled out £4.99 (I think) on pokecoins to help buy a second great box.

It's a different type of play using the scanner but I'm really enjoying it ( I'm getting slightly obsessed ) Now I understand why other players have so many rare Pokémon

I've got one or two of each of the legendaries. I hope it will be enough to get mewtwo raid pass but I don't think it will be 😭😭😭
