Welcome Cotton - I've still not got an aerodactyl yet despite being level 32 & having 220 in the pokedex . I've nothing over 2800cp either!

Aerodactly came completely out of the blue- no shadows, nothing. First time I've ever paid for anything on the store, I ran out of balls and was not going to let it escape!

Am looking for a Lapras and a Snorlax as I don't have either but it seems everyone else has.

Do you use gyms? I've never used one- the whole concept seems very complex and I'm not really sure where to start!

Also, do you guys recommend the Po go plus? I really would like one so I can use it on my way to work as it passes a lot of pokestops (city centre) as obviously can't use phone when driving. I don't know if I can justify it!

Yes, I gym everyday. I wouldn't have enough to buy incubators if I didn't!

We play in gyms but also very annoyingly the ones by us are all blue level 10 (we're red) & we don't have the time, inclination, revives or potions to battle them down completely. (Another thing that's bugging me about the game - can you tell I'm getting fed up with it now ).

When the gyms were more active in changing hands, we played everyday & collected the coins to buy incubators & greater storage space.

Give gyms a go - touch the gym, touch the battle icon on bottom left of screen & then touch go. The game will pick 6 Pokemon for you to battle with - you can change those if you want to, but whilst you're getting up to speed, I'd just go with those 6.

Touch your Pokémon to battle & then if you beat the gym, it will take it down a number of points. If you defeat it completely, then it'll go grey & you can put your Pokémon in. If you do that, then go to the shop & touch the shield in the top right corner to collect your coins.

Battling in gyms is good fun & my DSs loved it, but since it's moved to all being blue level 10, we've stopped & the kids aren't interested anymore as it's too hard.

Our town is a mix of blue and red, with the occasional yellow that never stays yellow for long.

There are some gyms that are always blue (and if they rarely get taken we make sure to get there to put one in before it gets to Level 10!) and some that are always red, while a few flit between teams.

No point tackling anything higher than a five on your own; just a waste of potions.

DH and I gym together every day, so we have a constant stream of 4 or 5 to collect which is really handy.

That's good What & in hindsight I'd have had a separate account from my DSs but at the time we had 1 phone (they used mine) & it would be too much work to start from scratch again!

All the ones by us are Blue level 10 & have been that way for a very long time. Occasionally they get knocked down a level or 2 & if we see that happening we try to help out but even if they go a different colour, within 3 hours they're back to a high level blue gym.

I do wish Niantic would randomly take all gyms back to grey at least once a week to keep people like me interested!

It is a shame if your town has a lot of Level 10s that aren't your team, but I am relieved they don't go to grey every week as it would be too uncertain, and really unfair if you'd used a lot of potions the day before to get it to your team.

All of this gym advice is great! Seems that most gyms are blue and red, although I am on my own as a lonely yellow

Just done a mass evolution. Kabutops completes my gen 1 pokedex excepting regionals. Also added Porygon 2, Flaafy, Quilava and Steelix to the collection.

My new strongest is a CP 2867 Rhydon.

Next level up early July???

There are PokemonGo maps for London so I'd google those and have a look.

All blue level 10 gyms round here, occasionally one goes down but it's back up the next day. It stops people playing as it's kinda pointless. I take one down every so often, used to do it every day though, meh.

Hatched a Chansey and finally got a gorgeous Blissey, I'm well happy.

He shouldn't be; he's a high CP and he's got Stone Edge, which is a fantastic move.

Unless you're pairing him up with types he's weak against, he should be great.

Did a Lucky Egg mass evolve and added Hitmonlee, chan, top, Kabutops, Magcargo, Muk and Machamp to the Pokedex. Now up to 213, and only need 6 more for Gen 1. Actually, scratch that, only need 2 for Gen 1 without Regionals.

Yeah and he has the breathtaking pokemon stats and best move is attack. When I was building up a friendly gym though he got taken out quite quickly. I can't remember what he was fighting.
