I can't believe there are people as obsessed with Pokémon go as me! DP thinks I'm a total loser for playing it all the time!

Think the event is great, managed to get enough kabutos to evolve a kabutops and got enough onix candy to evolve a steelix. No signs of a larvitar anywhere though.

It's totally acceptable to run out of work when you see an Aerodactyl shadow right?

Finally got one! Just 6 more needed for gen 1 and I can walk them all. Although that might take a while...

I'm so happy! I finally got my favourite Pokemon ever!!!

I have stormed out of the office shouting "there is a shadow of XX at the castle" to my colleague many times. She always very politely asks if I caught it when I'm back despite having no interest in pokemon.

I started playing yesterday after not playing any pokemon games since I was on my gameboy but I'm only level 5 yet. Although I have just discovered that there is a point to catching duplicates so I'll stop walking past them

Also caught a wild larvitar and evolved a steelix. All rock Pokémon accounted for (except larvitar evolutions) so I'm very pleased :)

I've never seen a Totodile. I've seen a Feraligator in a gym. A bit lacking in candies for Tyranitar.

I've managed to get all the Gen 2 starters, and evolved one of them fully (chikorita > bayleef > meganium).

Adore Totodile, but I only have the one and it's not likely to make much headway because I saw it in the wild. So no chance of evolution for it or cyndraquill without lots of walking of being lucky! Good for the dex though.

I was also very happy I managed to catch my first ever Jynx today!

I got drunk last night, did a lucky egg and evolved two cyndaquils. Ffs I'm an idiot. On the plus side I caught 5 Aerodactyls and 2 Onyx today. I didn't walk as far as I'd hoped, still got 25 candies left to get my Charizard.

Lol weird how it's set up, isn't it?! I can't remember which, but I've seen people here complain of never seeing X Pokemon when I see them everywhere.

I love catching all the older pokemon that I had years ago, I caught a Jigglypuff this morning!

You get them from poke stops. You can have 9 at a time.

Still need 14 candy for Dragonite, stupid work stopping me going out walking. Got a 10k incubating so just got to pray it's Dratini, Mareep or Larvitar, last one was a Pineco. Hatched another Cleffa from a 2k today, have had 9 now which is slightly ridiculous.

Metalheads, I think eggs and training etc start at Level 5. To see if you have any tap the Pokeball symbol, select Pokemon then swipe left. To select a 'buddy' tap your avatar and tap buddy to open your Pokemon box and select a Pokemon to walk with.

I'm less than 40k off L31 now. I'm getting ripe for a mass evolution on a lucky egg, but would rather get to L31 first, and use some candy to get some good Golems/ Rhydons rather than just evolving it all. Stardust will naturally be a good limiter on this plan! On 75k of that so a useful amount although it doesn't stretch far.

What I wish I'd known at the start.

Hatch eggs. It took me a while to suss out. If you have 3 use incubators, save them for 10k eggs. Use the orange infinite incubator for 2ks. Eggs are managed with a swish to the right of the pokemon screen.

Save Stardust until you reach higher levels. It builds up very slowly. There's no point using it when your max CP is comparatively low.

Gyms are handy for earning 10 coins per gym per day. Using "weak" pokemon is good for XP boosts and raising the level of the gym. It's hard to "catch up" with the high CP pokemon under the current system. I've struggled in the last month as my local gyms have been maxed out on high CP pokemon.

Pidgey is great for evolving for XP. When doing a mass evolution, upgrade the best to Pidgeotto, then Pidgeot and the rest to Pidgeotto and transfer to the professor.
