Crappy weather today. A Vulpix lured me out, so I trained up the gym too whilst there. Then bagged a Dratini (I think we have a nest) and hatched a Charmander. Not too bad.

Has anyone made a baby their buddy.

I had one iron coat and have no special items whatsoever since then.

I've completed Gen 1 all except a Tangela. Have 197 caught on my pokedex. 4 dragonites, 2 Gyrados, 1 Lapras and 5 Snorlax. I don't have any of the Gen 2 big fighters but do have a sunkern, cyndaquil and a chikorita.
I was in France too last week but couldn't play much because I couldn't get 4G on my phone, only 3G which doesn't really work for pokemon go. Annoyingly had the same thing in Portugal a few weeks ago. Has anyone successfully played P Go whilst overseas? (Aside from using wifi at hotel) ?

I (or work, really) paid for O2 travel tumpymummy which is £1.99 a day and gives me the same allowance for text/phone/data that I have in the UK. It worked brilliantly for me but I was in Toulouse close to the airport and the airbus site, I imagine 4G coverage in that area is probably as good as it gets.
I'm not sure yet what I do when we are in Germany for Easter. I might pay for O2 travel but I might first check if there are any stops or gyms in the village.

ignacceous I'm with O2 too and using the O2 travel. It just didn't work properly as all I got was 3G even though I was in big cities. Going away again at may half term and where we stay won't even have wifi so not sure what to do.

These special items are a myth, I'm sure. I've had a single upgrade, ever.

We've been pretty lucky with items.

We got 3 sun stones in the first couple of weeks and 2 metals coats in the last couple of weeks. Only the first sun stone was a result of the 7 day streak so I am calling phony on that theory.

I have read a few theories about items though - one that only certain pokestops has a chance of dropping them, one that special items you get are a result of who you are buddied with.

My personal theory is that pokestops also have sort of item migration periods. This is based on the huge database of evidence of 1 player - me - getting three sun stones in a row, followed by 2 metal coats in a row.

I think I was really lucky with where I was tumpumummy it's an area with loads of high tech companies, with several Airbus facilities and the airport, it might well have been a different experience a few miles into the countryside. I know how it is when you do't have reliable 4G, I live in rural Scotland and there are 4 gyms and one pokestop where I have 4G, all the gyms and stops 6 miles south from me, in the small town, are inaccessible to me.

I have found my people!! I have to confess to not having as many highbrow Pokemon as many of you guys have though!

I have a 10k egg that is so close to hatching but I had an operation on Monday and mobility is limited :( The only thing I can catch from my house is bloody swinub!

According to a GPS tracker app I walked 10.89km yesterday . The PokemonGo app registered only approx. 4.7km. I think it's because PoGo only works on my phone when I have good 4G coverage.

Actual rage- my brother took my Pokémon for a walk to hatch my egg. A bloody Sudowoodo

Christ no Lapras since Augsut and I catch one wild and then hatch a 10k egg with a Lapras minutes later. They are crap cp now so a waste.

Had an evolve yesterday. These are my newbies.

Managed to take down a level 10 gym which had a high CP Blissey - love the Ursaring!

Caught a Snubbull today which is new to me and hatched a Tyrogue with the right stats for Hitmontop so another new one for the dex and I've got all the hitmons now.
Just need to walk one more candy to evolve my Rhyhorn. I'm determined to get that Gen 1 dex done!

I had a mass evolve session which took me to level 31- added some new ones- exeggutor, muk, sloking and a politoad.

I spent an hour, 46 revives and 58 potions today to get a rival gym down to level 3 from level 7. Managed to kick out a fucking blissey, one more remains. As I was battling to bring it down, another man was bringing it up. I still kicked him out. I hate blisseys so much.

Oh and hatched a paras from a 5k egg- seriously, 5k for a fucking paras? And a pineco from a 10k egg. I already had caught one in the wild.

Yesterday we caught some sunkens in Regent's park and that purple fish with the sniny ball on its head.

Sorry, I am typing in between making pancakes. I'm up to 187 in pokedex, 207 seen.

I miss the days of seeing a lapras in the gym. Or golducks. I haven't seen those for a very long time.

Did someone say they had 5 snorlaxs? How? That's so unfair! I only have 1and only 1 lapras.

3 of my 5 items have come from the Bigg Market area. Other two from pokestop dense areas, Chester le Street, near the market and Durham marketplace!

Poor luck with a houndour nest, this afternoon. several in sightings when we first passed, but when we got into the car park, we struggled to find a space because there were various events on, one involving actual dogs! To cap it all off, they'd all disappeared by the time we got in. Ended up walking around the perimeter path twice, spinning pokestops and ignoring all the ledyba before one spawned right on top of our car, as we were about to leave!

Dd1 caught a doduo yesterday! It doesn't sound like much, but it's the first one I have ever seen in the wild. We got one from our first ever egg way back when and then never saw one again. It was just in the wild - we were very happy

Is today the first day of spring or something? The swineubs seem to have disappeared - I wonder if they migrated

I'm so frustrated, I have 163 ultra balls and 106 great balls but never see anything worth chucking them at. Time for a new event...boredom is setting in. I might even have a break from playing. Caught 206 on the pokedex, I'm not seeing anything new, and long list of future buddies which all need a lot of walking. Gym battles are getting boring, I knock them down and they are back up to level 8+ next day. Blah blah blah, sorry about the moan. Maybe I will have to do something more productive with my time! Is it just me?
