Hello Galen, how are you our kid? You don't need to have read any of the threads or all this thread, just dive in. Like you did. Don't worry, we're mostly tame. Well, I might not be, but at least you're safe as I'm on the other side of the Atlantic. Lucky you eh? :o

At the moment FrogTime I'm struggling to get the thing to fly straight. However I try to change the trim it just veers away to the right. Or the right. Whichever way I turn it it veers to the right. I'm convinced it's a fascist. I just hope it doesn't try to change my view.

There is an update. Says for Apple Watch and minor text fixes.

TheOtherGalen · 22/12/2016 20:37

After I posted that message I actually bundled up and went stampeding outside to play. I got all the way into the car and then of course it started raining like crazy, bah! So I just drove down to the one and only gym in my neighborhood and vindictively caught every single thing that was hanging around. Now I'm home again, one eye on the weather, waiting for it to clear enough for me to be able to justify stomping around town.

Thank you for the warm welcomes! So the new Pokemons are baby versions! Is that different from what people are calling Gen 2? I'm so out of date! I used to read every last thing, played daily, hatched eggs like a factory hen.

I even had a sweet competition going against some unknown nearby player for a while (the only other person in the area who plays, as far as I can tell), but I think he must have discovered some way of cheating because suddenly he was up to level 30 while I was still in the low 20s, dutifully calculating lucky egg times. I still think of him as my gym buddy though, since we're both on the yellow team and whenever that skank from the red team tries to take over the gym, he's always got some gigantic scary thing re-installed within the hour. Then I hurry over to put my pathetic backup critter up. I may or may not also then log on to my mom-type's account and put one of her critters up, too. Depending on how illegal that is, I mean.

I love that cake. But really what I want now is a drone.

BumWad · 22/12/2016 21:14

I am slightly excited about having Pokemon Go on my Apple Watch.

Should be able to walk around work/home and hatch eggs at the same time!

NamelessEnsign · 22/12/2016 21:20

Hey there Galen and welcome Grin. I'm going to be in NJ next month so I am hoping to catch a Tauros of my own. I don't have the best luck with Pokémon though so who knows.

I am getting super pissed off about the distance monitoring. I am cheated out of so many km! I wear a Fitbit and I so wish it would talk to the app!

snitcheryoo · 22/12/2016 22:02

Hi Galen, welcome in. wish I could swap a tauros for a mr mime.

Why is everything going poof today? Even 3 bloody weevils!

Had a massive hunting session yesterday while last minute panic shopping, racked up loads of balls and revives and hatched 2 lots of 5km eggs, all which were shite apart from another tangela.
Managed to walk my dratini enough for an evolve though. She's a lovely looking dragonair now.
I took an hour out to find a gym that I've been searching for, had seen it in the distance many times but couldn't work out where it was. Turned out it was a good miles walk into a woods then half way up a muddy hill. Was a friendly level 7, now it's L8 and I'm near the top Smile don't reckon that one will be taken any time soon.
Hatched a half decent Chancey too, just waiting for the local kids to give up for the night then me and the dog are going to take the gym round the corner off 'reds' and see what Chancey can do, thinking of changing her nickname to something festive just to wind the reds up, any ideas?

Merryxmasvalour?

Xmy Chancey?

DameDeDoubtance · 22/12/2016 22:14

Just run into town in our jamas to catch a Blastoise, happy days.

Icouldbeknitting · 22/12/2016 22:38

Snitch don't spend too much effort renaming your gym beast because no-one other than you can see its nickname.

TheOtherGalen · 23/12/2016 00:53

Braved the chill and came home with a basket full of lousy 2k and 5k eggs. Bah!

Hi Galen, welcome in. wish I could swap a tauros for a mr mime.
I'd take that deal in a heartbeat! Once upon a time there were rumors you could hatch region-specific pokemon from eggs, but I haven't heard anything about that in a while.

Getting cheated by the distance monitoring is bad enough, but the last thing I want is for my Fitbit to talk to the egg-hatching monitor. I got a Fitbit email not long ago saying I'd only walked 962 steps in the entire week. Seriously? I walk more steps than that just going to the mailbox. My Fitbit is a filthy liar.

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter · 23/12/2016 01:05

5 eggs hatched tonight: Oddish, Nidoran (m), Gastly, porygon and my first Magby!

Gen 2 tally now igglybuff (2), pichu (2) and Magby.

QueenLizIII · 23/12/2016 01:21

I caught loads of Pikachu to day and a Porygon and bulbasaur and dratini.

made up for the fact that my 5k egg was a meowth.

FrogTime · 23/12/2016 06:48

Welcome Galen!

You're doing really well hatching the babies longtime! All my recent eggs have been terrible.

I'm saving mine LBOC got a few machop and bellsprout as I need about 40-50 each candy. I've at least 5 spare of each and i'd rather they were worth 10 candy than 5!

Back at work today, should get another 5km finished - watch this space! for what I'm sure will be a weedle

Grin are you sure you are remembering to wear it? Grin. I pretty much always get my steps, and occasionally a lot more, so I wish I got the credit.

If only I had one!

Dillite2 · 23/12/2016 13:40

I just hatched not 1 but 2 blooming venonats out of 5km eggs! I would rather have been slapped by a limp dick to be honest, at least that one has a potential of being improved.

That actually made me lol. Grin Grin

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter · 23/12/2016 14:00

QueenLizIII · 23/12/2016 15:06

QueenLizIII · 23/12/2016 15:30

Oh joy! Oh rapture!

TWO Dratini. Now have enough to evolve the Dragonair but it isnt good cp so may have to wait.

TheOtherGalen · 23/12/2016 17:17

I caught a Dragonair with decent CP but shitty stats, so I'm laboriously walking up Dratini buddy candies in order to evolve all the way up from a better starter.

Also, first 2k egg of the day ... wait for it ... flipping Magikarp. Ayiyi.

I live right near the beach so I get heaps of water critters.

TheOtherGalen · 23/12/2016 17:20

Also holy smokes level 32. That's impressive! You all are out of my league, ha! I'm level 24. Your pokemons must have some killer CP!

FrogTime · 23/12/2016 17:53

dillite Grin

Just level 25 here, not too far off 26, maybe another week or so.

Nothing good popping up to catch here today, all bloody pigeons and rats.

Could do with a pokemon walk but the panic buyers won't serve themselves, back downstairs I go.... Sad

BumWad · 23/12/2016 18:19

Great so we are getting a Christmas event after all! Woooooo

MuddlingMackem · 23/12/2016 18:21

LBOCS2 Thu 22-Dec-16 19:50:40

Is anyone else saving up multiples of Pokémon they need candies for in case there is a Christmas event? I'm rapidly running out of space as I'm saving all my charmanders etc in the hope I'll get double candy for them...

Yup, Bulbasaurs, Magikarp and Dratinis. Got about seven each of the Bulbasaurs and Dratini and ten or so Magikarp, so they're taking up a fair bit of box space. I do wish Niantic would officially confirm or rule out a Christmas event asap so I can transfer them if there isn't going to be an event.

Starlight2345 · 23/12/2016 18:24

rainers,
As the year draws to a close, we want to give you a great way to celebrate the end of the year with Pokémon GO. For the next couple of weeks, you’ll have even more reason to explore the world with your friends and family while you enjoy our year-end event.
Don’t miss out on an increased chance to hatch a Togepi (and other Pokémon)! Starting the morning of December 25, 2016, and through the afternoon of January 3, 2017 (PST), PokéStops will award one single-use Incubator each day after your first Photo Disc spin. As you visit PokéStops during this time period, there will be a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and several other recently found Pokémon, originally discovered in the Johto region. Special Pikachu wearing festive hats will also be staying around a bit longer! You are more likely to find these limited-edition Pikachu during the time period of this celebration.
In addition, from the afternoon of December 30, 2016, through the afternoon of January 8, 2017 (PST), the first partner Pokémon and their Evolutions, originally discovered in the Kanto region, are more likely to be encountered. This means a greater chance to catch Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, as well as Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard, plus Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise! As a way to increase your chance to encounter one of these Pokémon, Lure Modules will also last for 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
Get up and go!
—The Pokémon GO team
