Betty Crocker cake mix (most flavours)
Jus roll pastry (most)
Hula hoops plain and salt and vinegar
Biscoff spread and biscuits
Fox party rings
Nairns crackers
Hob nobs

I remember being really surprised to find out lots of Jus Rol products are vegan. I think it's some of their premade pastry for making pies etc as well as their cinnamon swirls.

I swear I read somewhere that Beef Pot Noodles are vegan too Confused.

Schwartz's Perfect Shake chicken seasoning.

Teabagtits · 26/04/2017 15:29

The Oreo website says they're not suitable for vegans as there's cross contact with milk products. Sorry

shakeyospeare · 26/04/2017 15:30

VoldemortsOffspring · 26/04/2017 15:42

It depends where on the vegan spectrum you fall.
A lot of products list 'cross contamination' for purposes of allergy etc, but have no actually animal based ingredients.
I don't personally eat Oreos (don't like them anyhow) but even PETA advocate them as being ok and they are pretty strict. So as with all these things it is a spectrum of strictness.

HairsprayQueen · 26/04/2017 15:56

Cool doritos have milk in them too op. I think the chilli ones are ok.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 26/04/2017 15:56

Almost all pot noodles are vegan....my fave is beef and tomato!
It's all soya and tomato/spices- I can't remember exactly but chicken etc are all vegan also!

heyduggeeallday · 26/04/2017 15:59

Chicken pot noodles are not vegan because of cross contamination

Theweasleytwins · 26/04/2017 16:01

Original Pringles

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 26/04/2017 16:03

And yep, a lot of pre made pastry products like Jus Roll are vegan....it's all veg oil.

And ....from a friend who works in the food processing industry....

The cross contamination issue is interesting, as it depends on whether it's an allergy/ a moral thing etc etc.

Basically, when a big food factory runs a "line" of something, lets say cheese and onion pasties, they then will put on a new line of, lets say vegan pasties.
Whilst they clean the belts/ovens/belts etc between lines, it is not always very thorough, and there is a risk of "cross contamination".

In theory this is v v bad.
In practice, what it means is, if you have a severe dairy allergy, where even the slightest trace of cheese is dangerous, it might be best to avoid.
However, in terms of ethical vegans, and this is direct from friend in said industry there is likely to be as much of a trace of insects in your product (there is a legal "limit", which isn't 0!) as there is dairy.

HTH

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 26/04/2017 16:08

Oh, and Iam trying to be an ethical vegan, I'm not allergc btw.

But eg in flour, there is a set % of contents that can be insect/random stuff as it is nearly impossible to produce food in a 100% sterile environment.

I think the level of potential cross contamination can vary, but I can't get upset about it, otherwise...what would I eat??

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 26/04/2017 16:10

The only way to be 100% sure is to only buy products from factories where they only make vegan food.
But unless you have a lot of money, or live in London or Brighton, that is nearly impossible, even Linda Macca outsource their production to a massive commercial factory, which also produces other things.

Choc chip hobnobs are vegan. Who knew?!

Crunchyside · 26/04/2017 16:21

Doesn't the PETA website also advise not to be ridiculously strict as it puts other people off becoming vegan, and just because something has touched an animal product, as long as it doesn't contain animal products it's fine to eat it because you're still reducing the demand by having one less egg, pint of milk, steak etc purchased.

TwentyCups · 26/04/2017 19:18

Co op jam donuts are vegan 🍩

Booksandcrocheting · 26/04/2017 19:22

MrsPnut · 26/04/2017 19:27

Red bisto is vegan as is the Bisto best caramelised onion gravy which we have all the time here.

AnnoyedofTunbridgeWells · 26/04/2017 19:30

Fry's chocolate cream.
Original Pringles.

My sister is an ethical vegan and doesn't eat anything which contains animal products as an ingredient but she would eat things that say 'may contain traces of milk'.
