We off to Sherwood Forest Centre Parcs tomorrow and I am thinking of booking in the spa, but I will have to go on my own so dh can look after kids. Just wondered if anyones been on their own was it ok? Dont know if I will feel comfortable and enjoy it as much. Any advice/tips grateful. TIA.

Just got back from going swimming... the pool was busy - just as busy as it was in August 2008. Sunny weather today so not as though it is pouring with rain, which I find tends to make the pool busy.
With luck Aqua Sana this evening won't be as busy... but then again it might be. Ah well, at least I know from past experience that from around 8pm, it gets quieter.

I spent an afternoon at the Longleat Aqua Sana this week and it was relaxing, although MIL and SIL complaining that it was too serious and that wanted somewhere they could have a giggle put a dampner on it.

bobbyboboo - If you are still at CP, then book an evening session for tonight (you can use the online booking system, or just visit the Aqua Sana) to give it a try.
The first time I went to the Spa (December 2006), I went with my mum. I didn't enjoy it that much (though did like the food - we had booked the Spa Supper evening). I think I didn't enjoy the Spa bit because I felt that I had to go around with my mum.
Move on to October 2008 and I decided to go alone. I too had concerns about if I would like it, or not... and I posted on Mumsnet for advice. I was nervous on my first visit but once I had been it was fine. Much better going alone... you do things at your own pace, not someone elses. You don't have to stay the whole length of the session you book, you can arrive later/leave earlier. Try to avoid clock watching... can be hard though. You may want to take a book (if you like the idea of laying on a heated bed/seat while reading). Don't take the book in initially... enjoy the sauna's first... then once nicely heated up, get your book and relax on a warm bed/seat.

Last night at Longleat, around 6.30pm was quiet... picked up around 7pm and then busy until around 8pm, then it got quiet again. There was alas a group of ladies who seemed to want to lots of chatting constantly, even in the area where there are signs saying it is a 'very quiet' area. I prefer being able to hear the quiet tranquil music, rather than a group of ladies chatting about their sex life. But on the other hand, while in the Finnish Sauna, someone said 'this is like the London Underground, just not smelly!' - there were around 10 of us in the Sauna, so it was a little crowded and of course pretty hot - so in some ways it was like the London Underground. So having a quick giggle over something is fine.
