  1. North Korea 🇰🇵. Totalitarian hellhole
  2. Russia 🇷🇺. Totalitarian hellhole and forced military conscription and the fact that they are bombing Ukraine.
  3. Poland.
  4. Romania. Very uninteresting country
  5. Mexico 🇲🇽. I see many Americans moving there. Which is crazy considering it’s a cartel state.
  6. Jamaica. Very gentrified, 99 percent of beaches are blocked and privatised. Just all inclusive resort dystopias everywhere. Jamaica might be beautiful but it is a gentrified dystopia.
  7. Bahamas. Same reason. Gentrified dystopia.
  8. Cayman island. It’s no difference then Miami (before trump). Masses of tourists. Very crowded. Land of consumerism. There are more white people than locals.
  9. Haiti. A gang infested island.
  10. Israel.
  11. Barbados. Gentrified to the max.

I wouldn't (and won't) waste my time justifying the merits of some places on OP's list. Just say where you won't go, that's what was asked!

Whats wrong with Romania? I want to do a walking holiday there, it looks beautiful.

Nothing wrong with it! It’s beautiful, especially Transylvania.

HarvestMouseandGoldenCups · 27/01/2026 17:54

Mexico was one of my favourite places. The food was amazing, the weather wonderful and people very kind

peacefulpeach · 27/01/2026 17:54

If you’d said ‘never set foot in again’ you might have some credibility (a tiny bit). As it is.. you have none..

pernice · 27/01/2026 17:55

Mexico is fine, just stay in the tourist areas. The cartel isn't looking to do anything to tourists

You've been to ALL of Poland? Lol

Gdansk is actually beautiful, museum and beaches. Good shops and history. Ask anyone who has been to Gdansk and they will say its lovely.

Great for kids too and felt very very safe and clean

I like to avoid countries with a reputation for kidnapping tourists and shooting people. That list is ever evolving. I like my life and my freedom.

It’s a boring country.

And the UK isn’t? It’s a festering shit hole that gets worse by the month.

Mumsntfan1 · 27/01/2026 17:56

I've been to Israel and Poland and will visit both countries again. I haven't been to Romania but see no reason not to!

explanationplease · 27/01/2026 17:56

What an idiotic thread.

MovingBird123 · 27/01/2026 17:56

Only boring people get bored!

And Israel will do very well without you.

joseline · 27/01/2026 17:44

It’s a boring country.

You’ve lost any bit of credibility with that statement

hexsnidgett · 27/01/2026 17:57

USA was my first thought. It grows scarier by the day.

DancingLions · 27/01/2026 17:57

Australia. Too far and doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
New Zealand. Ditto too far, it does look lovely but many other places are lovely and closer.
Other than that I'd go pretty much anywhere. North Korea actually intrigues me. I visited the DMZ and that was really interesting. Parts of it were very sad but also fascinating.

hexsnidgett · 27/01/2026 17:59

What has this list git to do with ' UK travel'?

illsendansostotheworld · 27/01/2026 17:59

dizzydizzydizzy · 27/01/2026 17:50

India. Fascinating country but I wil never go again because I was ill the whole time - either food poisoning or breathing in air pollution- and I don't even have asthma. I have never been so happy to end a holiday and go home. I lost 2 stone in 2.5 weeks.

I never want to go here - don't think my stomach or nose could cope with it

Fupoffyagrasshole · 27/01/2026 17:59

i mean where do you live op that’s so great

PeculiarScenarioNo52 · 27/01/2026 17:59

I once watched the sunset over the Black Sea in Romania. All the while being wooed by a beautiful Romanian man that I'll never see again. sigh

This is a silly thread!

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 27/01/2026 18:00

Tunisia
beautiful beaches lovely hotels but it had an underlying current that I can’t really explain

Morocco the same - did the Atlas Mountains and Marrakesh and Agadir

both places I was single woman so maybe that was it but I didn’t feel comfortable

but I’ve been to both Turkey and Egypt on my own and with family and felt perfectly safe

RedToothBrush · 27/01/2026 18:01

Oh is this a Poland and Romania bashing thread?

It's going to end so well...

Likeoohlaalaala · 27/01/2026 18:04

Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, any of the ME. I'm sure they're beautiful countries but as a solo female traveller I'll never set foot in any of them

HushTheNoise · 27/01/2026 18:04

Romania is beautiful and interesting. I wouldn't visit India again. USA is off the list, UAE, Qatar, etc because of treatment of women, slavery etc. Lots of other places where people are exploited for tourism.

Pasta4Dinner · 27/01/2026 18:04

I’ve been to Russia, wish I could go back someday.

Australia, it doesn’t seem to really offer me anything for the distance. DD wants to go to NZ because of LOTR though. My colleague went and said it was beautiful but wasn’t worth the journey.

hexsnidgett · 27/01/2026 17:57

USA was my first thought. It grows scarier by the day.

I've been there many times and love but I wouldn't at the moment either. The final straw was when they announced in December that to be granted an ESTA you would soon have to make all your social media accounts public. No thank you!! The madness is getting worse as each day goes by.
