Edinburgh with teenagers

We have a couple of days in Edinburgh with our 17 and 15 year old boys. It might very well be the last time the older one voluntarily comes on a little holiday with us. What should we definitely do in Edinburgh aside from the castle?
The boys are not big sightseeing fans, in terms of just wandering around, but are fairly amenable otherwise. They are quite food driven 😝 The older one very into football, the younger more medieval stuff and sci-fi/ fantasy, but ideas don't need to be related to any of that.

Definitely an underground 'ghost' tour of the old town - they are genuinely scary and historically v interesting. Make sure you choose one that goes underground.
Edinburgh dungeons
Fox lake/lost shores/go ape all just outside Edinburgh
Food wise Bonnie and Wilde and Edinburgh street food both good for teens and lots of choice.

Bonnie and Wilde is an upscale food court place where everyone can choose their own meals from a big variety of outlets. It is the same place as an everyman cinema, bowling and the Flight Club as well (a darts place).

The Dungeons, or various ghost tours might be good? There are lots of 'dark' type tours that are definitely not aimed at young children.

Sporty-wise there is the eicc climbing arena and the lost shore surf resort, both a bit out of the city but if they are sporty they might enjoy them. I'm sure you could tour the Hibs/Hearts grounds or murrayfield as well.

Not sure when you are going but there are various rides and things at the Christmas market from November - January.

The chocolatarium is a really fun experience for foodie teens

Gordon Ramsey burger place in the shopping precinct...

Thank you everyone! Have booked a couple of things and Bonnie and Wilde will definitely appeal too!
My eldest (adult) who's not coming with us, visited Edinburgh with a friend last year and recommended the "Real Mary King's Close" so I've booked that too.

Brisk walk up Calton Hill (to the amazing views and lovely new cafe) and the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions. Dynamic Earth is good too

The castle isn't that good and overpriced, especially if you're not into sight seeing.

Edinburgh Street Food - you can order from lots of different places to your table.
The ghost tours are very good, get one that takes you underground.
Coro chocolate cafe.
There's a stranger things/80s sci-fi themed mini golf our at the corn exchange, just a short bus from city centre.

There are a few entertainment venues with bowling, shuffle board interactive darts etc - Roxy lanes, Boom battle bar, Lane 7.

If you decide to go to the castle make sure you book it in advance, during busy times there won't be tickets available on the day.
