Why does butlins holiday resorts let convicted sex offenders visit their parks on adult breaks I’m really concerned that they could leave devices in swimming pool changing rooms when families of young children stay Butlin’s are know real help here

I got back from my last one on Monday and I still feel rough today 🤣 they're another world, in a good way. If you like a drink, dance and a laugh, you'll love a Butlins Weekender. People get snobby about it but its one of the friendliest places I've experienced and I've never seen any trouble or felt unsafe, even when walking around alone early hours of the morning.

i love a drink, dance and a laugh
but i promise you… there is not the remotest chance that i would enjoy butlin adults weekend

but you do, and that’s brilliant and long may you carry on doing so!

I would almost guarantee that unless you live very rurally there are multiple sex offenders with a mile of your home, convicted and unconvicted, using the same buses, trains, swimming pools, changing rooms, restaurants, toilets, supermarkets etc. I don't say this to frighten you but to highlight the ridiculousness of your fears they will leave a recording device at a Butlins even there aren't any children there, if that's your rationale they could leave one anywhere.

Ive heard it’s where they all go on day release, not coaches. The prison transport drops them off.

Butlins partnered with Serco.......

This can all be easily avoided by not going to Butlin’s.

My thoughts exactly 🤣

HollyKnight · 20/09/2024 21:41

If you want somewhere to go where you don't have to keep your wits about you and safeguard your children...that place doesn't exist. Not every paedo is on a register. Those are just the ones who have been caught.

Some people really are morons. I forget that.

Edited to remove as comment I responded to was not directed at me.

How would they know? I mean if someone asked me I have no criminal record and a certificate that says so. I could have a predilection for murdering unsuspecting members of the public in my barber shop and baking them into pies ( I don’t) a la sweeney Todd but if I’ve not been caught or convicted then who would know? I assume the vast majority of sex offenders, paedophiles and perverts don’t have convictions.

charlieinthehaystack · 21/09/2024 08:44

if someone is on sex offenders register only people they need to declare to are police and probation service. there is no legal need to declare it anywhere else or to anyone else if people want to tell someone thats up to them except perhaps in a job interview where it would need declaring for say safeguarding
