My husband and son were walking to the beach in Adleburgh and some guy jumped out his house and yelled "Are you gay, you bastards?". He had "Sodom and Gomorrah" written on his bins. My daughter and I were elsewhere so the guy somehow decided they were a couple. Weird. Are people generally really homophobic and rude here?

Where I live there is a fuck tonne of addicts (or tall, skinny man in the brink of death as we fondly refer to them) but there are also plenty of really lovely families like us.

Sounds like you met Aldeburgh's token nut job. I'm actually quite reassured to know that even those with money to live in a beautiful place like that have to put up with something. It's a leveller.
