London meals on budget

Hello,

I've got a 2 night trip to london booked in a few weeks. As we'll probably be spending our money on fancy cocktails, a show, sightseeing costs etc we've figured we should reign in the spends on meals out.

Anyone any suggestions for some decent cheap eats/meals on budget (brekkie, lunch and tea)? Our hotel is in the city and it's got a mini fridge in the room. In the past we've grabbed a takeaway pizza and eaten that in our room but would welcome other options too Smile.

Thank you!

Any Vietnamese on the kingsland road - you
can walk from the city. Food is fantastic and very reasonable.

If you are flexible on what you eat get too good to go app. Loads of cafes and places on it.

About 3-£4 for a bag. We got one from Paul and got baguette, roll, salad and couple of cake bits. You can get sushi ones all sorts.

Also several famous excellent Indian vegetarian restaurants on Drummond st in Euston

Go to Camden Lock. Walk round several.times at lunch time. You'll get so many free samples you won't need to buy anything.

Tokyo Diner on the corner of Newport Place and Lisle Street (on the edge of Chinatown just behind Leicester Square). Their soup noodles are delicious and filling.

Agree Flat Iron is a great deal for a sit down meal.

Koya is lovely for noodles. Japanese canteen is super reasonable (love their Korean chicken) and Marugame Udon is great value too. All have a couple of branches.

A nice cheap but razzle dazzle dinner is brasserie zedel prix fixe / menu rapide

It's 10 or 12 per head and the venue is stunning

Camden market- you can get lots of different type cuisines for really cheap. Think I paid £5 for a big tray of Chinese food for lunch and it was lovely but there are tons of other options and also they all give out free testers usually.
China town - again similar to Camden market
You can also always find Wetherspoons dotted around if your not too fussy, and there is a quite nice Mexican burrito type place in Victoria train station called ‘tortilla’ I think that was informal and cheap.

I'd also agree with Pizza Union - great very cheap pizzas. There's also a veggie all you can eat Indian on chapel market in Angel that I LOVE - it's BYO as well. Brick lane is also very cheap for curries - you can normally haggle down and get a couple of free drinks thrown in.

Brick Lane food Hall is great.

And I love Pizza Union- we went twice in one week, their salads sounds simple bit are really nice!
