mother and teen DD spa weekend - where's good?

Hi, it's looking unlikely we're getting away and I need to do something, as does my DD. I'm thinking a lovely spa weekend might be a good idea. Any recommendations?

What area are you, or willing to travel to?

SoTiredNeedHoliday · 23/07/2021 18:31

What’s you budget? 4 or 5?

Do you want to be in city / coast / country?

What facilities / treatments do you want?

Some hotels call it a spa with a basement sauna and jacuzzi!

SoTiredNeedHoliday · 23/07/2021 18:34

I want proper relaxation, and grounds to walk around so probably country I'd say. 4*+ for style / budget

Center Parcs Aqua Sana might be good for teen DD. I can recommend the Sherwood Forest spa, but I think the others are good too.

SoTiredNeedHoliday · 23/07/2021 18:41

Thanks @Nameswaptime I definitely want something less busy than center Parcs though.

My DD will be happy to have some treatments and read and walk, maybe swim.

@Sssloou have you been to any of those in the link?

Lifehouse in Thorpe-le-soken is lovely, and has beautiful grounds as well as the spa and pool.

Whattodonow6322 · 23/07/2021 18:44

Ragdale hall is amazing!

Moddershall Oaks

Dunston Hall, just outside Norwich, was lovely. Food was good, room was comfortable, treatments weren’t rushed.

Hoar Cross Hall - luxury spa in a stately home.

It's near Lichfield in Staffordshire.
I go every year. It's one of my favourite places.

Yes Soho FM, Coworth Park and Greyshott from that list and Cliveden and The Grove from this list:

This was going to be my suggestion too. I'm not a spa person really but I do love it there, the grounds are great too.

I recommend Carey's Manor near Brockenhurst for a 4* budget. Seperate spa section, so not just pool and sauna, and only accessible to people booked in the spa. Nice Thai restaurant in the spa too. Plus it's located in the New forest which is stunning, lovely for a mooch about. If you need to train it, Brockenhurst station is on the Waterloo mainline and 5 mins from the hotel.

Baliffscourt in Climping, near Arundel is lovely

Whittlebury Hall is fab! Haven't been since before Covid, though.

thelastgoldeneagle · 23/07/2021 19:22

Also Champneys Tring, Forest Mere and Henlow - all within 2.5 hours of London. More country house vibe and luxury than Whittlebury.

Cowley Manor Cheltenham

grove at watford lovely and v close to London

Lizsmum · 23/07/2021 19:39

Ragdale Hall. Ive been with my teen (17) daughter and we had a great time

AnotherEmma · 23/07/2021 19:47

Ufford Park in Suffolk. The spa is lovely and you can do a nice walk around the golf course. I found the spa much nicer than a lot of more expensive places I've been to. I think some of them can be a bit tired and in need of an update.

Aqua Sana at Center Parcs is amazing but I agree it's always very busy which is a shame and makes it less relaxing. I'd love to be rich enough to have exclusive use for me and my guests Grin
