17 year old and 7 year old.
Need to be out every day to avoid wars between the two...
We love walking, the beach, activities, anything really.
Thanks

@Institutkarite why don’t you write to “Dickford” and explain what he needs to be doing instead then as you apparently have all the answers?

@Bumblebeen excellent answer.

@Binterested I have seen Abersoch and Llanddwyn get like Bournemouth on a hot day.. Dinas dinlle, Black Rock and Criccieth are unlikely to attract that many people Grin

Love north wales and desparately want to visit in August but currently have no confidence anything will be open other than the accommodation. That said clearly others and optimistic because there’s very little availability anywhere.

No not Torrent but looks lovely so another place on our list, many thanks x

Aber falls is a nice walk, but of a narrow road to get to the carpark tho.
We stayed in Beddgelert last summer which is a lovely village, with some great walks and a fab ice cream parlour (Glaslyn)
Walk round Lyn Idwal and enjoy a paddle at the end.
If you take Watkins Path there is the most amazing pool the kids can play, I’ve attached a photo it was gorgeous and we had it to ourselves for ages as we went early and most people walk straight past it.

We have filled an entire week now I think Smile

Some of the places mentioned are quite a long drive from Abergele, so be prepared to travel quite a bit.

Keep an eye on Snowdonia National Park info, because some of the popular paths are closed and may remain so. Who knows what will happen eh.

FlyingFlamingo · 27/06/2020 21:54

OP was it Aberglaslyn near Beddgelert? The walk from Beddgelert goes through fields and then alongside the river through the gorge, there are handholds near the bridge in the rock.

I agree with the stance we have taken in Wales, I was on the beach the same day it was chaos in Bournemouth and we had loads of space, social distancing wasn’t an issue at all and I felt really safe. Our R rate is currently 0.5, only Scotland is lower in the U.K. so we are doing something right!

crosser62 · 27/06/2020 22:02

No, wasn’t there. As soon as I hear the name I will know it.... gaaah!!

Oh so pompous, so very pompous. Enjoy your pomposity

BumbleBeen · 28/06/2020 11:01

@Institutkarite It's not pompous to point out that what you wrote was completely false, you're spreading bullshit and getting angry at the First minister for rules that you have made up in your own head.

Electric Mountain in Llanberis (especially if there's bad weather - it's indoors). You have to book IIRC. It's fascinating. You might lucky and see it generating, not just on stand-by!

Dilbertian · 30/06/2020 23:52

Also in Llanberis, National Slate Museum - excellent. And you can stroll through the woodland across the bottoms of the mine inclines, or ride the little stream train that follows a similar route.

I have spent many, many hours with the dc in Llanberis, waiting to cheer dh across the finish line of the Snowdonia Marathon. These four attractions never fail to please us all.
