Hello folks - we've got another competition for you!

Luxury Family Hotels are famed for providing families with stress-free and relaxing UK breaks which are fully focused on spending quality time together and taking some time out to relax.

With multiple locations across the south of the UK and prices starting from £329 for two-night stays including breakfast and dinner, it's the ideal time to book your break - and you can find out more here.

This year they're celebrating their 30th birthday, and to celebrate they're giving one lucky Mumsnetter the chance to win a two-night bed and breakfast stay at a Luxury Family Hotel of their choice.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is let us know your top tips and tricks to ensure you and your family unwind properly on holiday. Whether that's making sure you turn off notifications for work emails, or getting out and exploring nature or simply remembering to pack the tablet charging cable, we want to hear it.

We will be picking a winner at random on Monday 22 July 2019 - good luck!

The prize is valid for redemption until 28 March 2020 (excluding school holidays and Bank Holiday weekends). The prize is valid for two adults and up to three children. The prize is subject to availability at time of booking.

If the kids are happy...the parents are happy!

My top tip would be to have no expectations! Take the pressure off of how you want it to be and focus on what you have as a family. Enjoy just 'being' where you are, allow the children to have uninterrupted time with you and make the most of each moment Smile

Don’t over-plan and over-organise. Work with the mood, pick your battles, know when to give in and enjoy the moment.

For me, it's about living in the moment. Appreciating the view, the food, the family. In sharp contrast to the rest of the year when it's all about what next? and forward planning.

Practically, power strips are a lifesaver for multiple charging when briefly in accommodation. Decent necklace storage/packing so they aren't all tangled together.

And crucially picking a holiday that's as enjoyable for adults as for children. This means pools and activities for the children, and car hire nice restaurants and escape for the adults!

We eat out every day or order takeaway, we have a no cooking on holiday rule.

My most relaxing holidays are when we've got something to do nearby which has enough to interest the whole family but isn't too tiring. A few hours out then back to the house we're swapping with to play with their toys and watch some movies. And if it's a few hours thing its nice to know we can have a leisurely start without it feeling like we're 'late'.

I enjoy planning for all eventualities so feeling prepared certainly helps me to relax! Plenty of good books to read, a lovely pool or beach to relax by and delicious food is what we all love as a family

leafygarden · 21/07/2019 16:25

Take lots of books. Plan plenty of activities. And yes - make sure there is wifi as we do have teenagers!
