Stunning walk with pub room/food, coastal?

Can anyone recommend a good coastal walk with a beautiful pub/restaurant en route? DH has requested this as his birthday treat but I want to arrange the details as a surprise. Walk can be long, a day or two.

Looking for somewhere that serves great seafood, with nice rooms attached if possible!

Camel trail / walk by the Cornish cost with lunch at Rick Steins place in Padstow?

Dementedswan · 01/05/2019 11:34

Which area?

Any walks along the South West coastal path are just fantastic and almost always tie in with restaurants and places to eat along the way. There is a specific website on the SWCP which we have used in the past when we have holidayed in cornwall.

If you are in The North look at Craister in Northumberland.
The whole village is basically a seafood eating destination and there are some lovely walks too

How about spending a weekend doing the Scottish costal drive? Beautiful scenery 😊

Notwiththeseknees · 01/05/2019 14:07

North Norfolk, anywhere from Brancaster, going north. The White Horse is a lovely pub with rooms built as pods into the gardens. Huge decked area with views....

Dorset Jurassic coast. Particularly Shell Bay and Studland - gorgeous!

Location can be anywhere really as we can drive/fly to starting point. Will travel for the right place! Thanks for the tips so far, I should add that we are going in January so anywhere with a sunny microclimate would be beneficial!

Stay- the scarlet or watergate bay and eat in either of the hotel restaurants- you can coastal walk between the two. Stunning. Or at watergate bay is Jamie’s 15 and it is fantastic.

We stayed at watergate bay and had a special lunch at 15 and it was unbelievable.

That’s Cornwall!

Maybe not in January though.... Grin. But as long as it isn’t raining I love the winter Cornish coast.

Padstow- meh- Rick stein has somewhat ruined the place! Grin

Blackandpurple · 01/05/2019 21:36

Anglesey? Loads of costal pubs.

NormHonal · 01/05/2019 21:37

Moonfleet Manor Hotel

Gower peninsula. It's so beautiful. January might be tough though!

CardinalSin · 08/05/2019 22:12

North Cornwall but don't go to Padstowe or Rick Stein - stay at the Driftwood Spars in St Agnes.

bumpertobumper · 08/05/2019 22:14

North devon, around woolacombe there are spectacular costal walks and lovely places to stay.

wellballstoyou · 14/05/2019 21:23

norfolk brancaster and round from there to yarmouth. norfolk coast path is nice. winterton on sea will face east and walk on the beach towards horsey the seals are there for pup season dec/ january!

MrsCatnip · 14/05/2019 21:32

It's got to be Padstow surely - so much choice for posh fish dinners, nice hotels and beautiful coastline. The walk up to the mouth of the Camel estuary and round the headline to the next beach is STUNNING. Might be a bit blowy in January mind.
Or St Ives perhaps? Lovely walk down to Lands End.
Or for a really special trip what about flying over to the Isles of Scilly? Bryher, Tresco, St Martins, and St Mary's all have nice hotels and the most incredible coastline. And that microclimate you desire Grin Not cheap to get there mind!

sproutsandparsnips · 14/05/2019 22:14

St brides spa to stay and Coast restaurant to eat with the coastal path.

Seven Sisters, Sussex. Birling Gap to Cuckmere Haven.

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/05/2019 22:21

East Portlemouth to Gara Rock in South Devon is a good walk in the summer (I've never done it in winter)

CherryPavlova · 14/05/2019 22:22

North House in Cowes.

TwllBach · 14/05/2019 22:26

Anglesey coastal path! There are lovely places to eat and there are places to camp along the way. You could start at the top and stay at a B and B called Blackthorn Farm in Trearddur Bay and then walk from there. It’s beautiful. I used to live on Anglesey but I live at the bottom of Snowdon now. Blackthorn farm are on Instagram if you want to have a quick look at the scenery!

austenozzy · 14/05/2019 22:27
