My 40th is just around the corner.

We have a child free weekend so looking for a hotel for the night. My wish list:

Fantastic food and wine
Spa for treatments/pool/sauna etc
Great breakfast
Not in a city

We've done Gleneagles, Cameron House and Rufflets Hotel in St Andrews.

Do you have any recommendations for me?

We've lived in Edinburgh and Glasgow hence the reason we're not keen to spend the night in a hotel there but happy to be advised otherwise!

Thanks.

It is. If I know you then I don't know you well because you didn't invite me to your wedding Hmm

C+C and Waswondering - there is a "pregnant in aberdeen" thread in Mumsnet Local - Aberdeen where there are several posters, do pop in and say hello!

Torridon is meant to be lovely. I can personally recommend Knockinaam Lodge, near Portpatrick. Monachlye Mhor is also on my must-visit list, after a friend's recommendation.

Thanks Medee never looked at the local stuff. I am not pregnant as far as I know though Hmm

Medee · 04/01/2011 21:52

ah, we're not all pregnant (I and a few others are, a couple have just had their babies, and some have older babies.)

Back to hotels....

Carrotsandcelery · 04/01/2011 21:58

I had a look Medee but my dcs are way older than the babies of the mums on the thread. Thanks for the invite though Grin

I definately back "neversaydie" and have to recommend Isle of Eriska - has everything you are looking for and it is contained on its own private island (bridge though so no worries about getting there!) - ESPA spa & pool facilities/3AA Rosette Restaurant/great wine selection - have a look here www.eriska-hotel.co.uk

Hope you find somewhere great anyway!
