Advice needed on a tricky situation

Hello
My ds is part of a sports team. The team has two coaches with one of those being new this year. As parents we have minimal interaction with coaches other than a whatsapp chat where we comment each week on our kids availability for training and matches.
This morning I get a random whatsapp from the new coach asking if I am single as he has a friend that is interested in me. Very odd being as though I have never even spoken to this man but ok he doesn't know me so I politely reply stating that I am in a relationship so not interested. About an hour later I get another message from him saying thats a shame im not single as he was actually asking for himself and wants to know if i would like to meet him in secret this week for a bit of fun???? Wtf!! Just to add in this coach is married with a kid (who is in the team). His wife turns up at matches and they are always hugging and holding hands so clearly they are together.
I have left him on radio silence with no response but what the hell do i do here??? I hate any kind of drama so im inclined to just keep quiet about the whole thing as its the easy option for me but i feel so sorry for his wife and kid. This bloke doesnt even know me so clearly i assume he is a serial sleaze and i am far from the first woman he has done this to. I haven't even mentioned it to my partner as he will go mental and kick off with him.
I have my receipts as I noticed that he had set the messages to disappearing messages so i managed to screenshot them before they disappeared so I am able to prove my total innocence in the whole situation.
Am I right to keep quiet? I feel so guilty even though I have done absolutely nothing wrong. All advice welcome thanks :-)

I would report him to the club. He has breached GDPR by privately messaging. He did not have permission to use your data for this. If he approaches other mothers the club could lose players. It’s sleazy and inappropriate. I wouldn’t ignore it. A 3am message likely means he was drunk so he could do the same again. I wouldn’t ignore, push the nuclear button.

Someone’s got his phone and is playing silly buggers.

It really doesn't!

I would think about telling your partner so they are aware, obviously do your best to prevent them going mental. But it might be better than partner finding out from say, his wife.

OriginalSkang · Today 16:29

I would 100% report this to the club

Blueberrybonanza · Today 16:34

I would absolutely tell my partner and also report to the club. Who knows what he may say to others about you if you dont

Agatha1989 · Today 16:46

Ugh what a sleaze. I would definitely tell your partner and I would consider telling his wife too.

TFImBackIn · Today 16:49

I agree - don't keep his sordid secrets.

Speak to him in front of his wife and ask if he’s been hacked.

I think this is a good option, ask him if got hacked and gauge his reaction. He actually could've been hacked/it could've even been the wife.
Just say I got some messages that didn't seem like they were from you but they all deleted?

I think this is a safeguarding concern and must be reported to his manager. If he is willing to cheat on his partner and "have a bit of fun" with you is he a danger to the children? It needs checked.

Should he also be banned from keeping pets and have a curfew to keep him in the house after dark?

He chanced his arm and failed. Big deal. Time to move on.

CheeseAndSaladCreamSandwich · Today 17:00

Its a GDPR breach. And if his morals are this low, what else does he consider ok? Cutting corners with safety? Using money from club funds? Questionable decisions regarding safeguarding?

He needs reporting.

DiscourteousDiana · Today 17:01

I’d reply saying ‘I’m telling your wife’ and then never reply to him again after that. I’d let him panic and tell his wife himself

DiscourteousDiana · Today 17:01

Actually I’m sick of men doing this shit. I’d put the screenshots on the main WhatsApp group.

OFHelp · Today 17:11

As much as i would love to do all of the above suggestions it just isn't in my nature at all. Like i said i've got all of the screenshots so im not worried about any repercussions for myself as i can prove my total innocence in the whole situation. If i tell my partner the shit really will hit the fan and ultimately it will be the kids that suffer as they wont be able to play matches with just one coach. For now i think i am going to just leave it as it is with no reply and him on block and just leave him to sweat. He is clearly some serial cheat - this certainly isnt his first rodeo!!! His poor wife 😔

Why don’t you want him away from your kid and others? It seems really irresponsible to say nothing and still be around him. Also deceitful to your partner.
Tell your partner what happened. And the main coach. This is an environment set up around kids team sport. People including you have a responsibility to protect the whole team and the club - he’s going round compromising the team with inappropriate suggestive behaviour to parents. Call it out.

CeffylCoch · Today 17:28

I would go to the main coach, you’re probably not the only one he’s messaged

MyDpsanarse · Today 17:54

If he's a serial cheat you won't be the only woman he messages @OFHelp , they play the numbers, keep asking and you'll finally find a woman who takes him up on his offer. Men like him rely on secrecy, that women won't out him, there could already be other DMs he's tried it on with. What's more important, his wife's right to know the truth or a kid's team game

OldJohn · Today 18:19

He may not be any danger to children but in my experience it is better to repiort it and have it checked by the club's safeguarding person than to take any risk, no matter how small.

OFHelp · Today 18:34

I just hate that ive been put into a situation that i didnt want or ask to be part of. Ive never even had a conversation with the man for goodness sake. I hate this 😞

Whilst I'm not suggesting he's a horrific child abuser or anything... if he is this blasé about data protection, it would male me wonder what else he is blasé about

How has he breached GDPR? Genuine question.

Because OP has not provided her mobile number for the purposes of socialising. If you collect data, it can only be used for the purpose stated when you collect it - in this case, that would be matters to do with the sports club or emergency contact related to OP's child.

Anyone doing this kind of thing in a business environment - using clients' or customers' mobile numbers to ask them out - would be the subject of disciplinary proceedings and the company would be obliged to report a data breach.
