Ready salted, salt and vinegar or cheese and onion?

For most of my life it wouldve been cheese and onion but these days I really love a nice ready salted. Can’t beat it. Salt and vinegar for some moments if in the mood

So my pick? Ready salted.

Always cheese and onion.

MachineBee · 02/08/2026 19:47

If it’s Walkers, then Cheese and Onion, but Pipers Sea Salt (aka Ready Salted) are sublime.

KindlySurfiingPlatypus · 02/08/2026 19:55

If those are the only 3 options I'm going for plain/salt as the nasty chemically taste of both the others is vile, unless they are really posh expensive crisps that are "real cheddar and red onion" etc and get the flavour from actual food rather than chemical simulation.

But given a real choice I would have chicken or steak or another more robust but less nasty flavour.

Cheese/onion, then salt/vinegar then if its desperate times and nothing else, then plain salt.

MagnoliaTreeBlossom · 02/08/2026 20:03

I like Smiths salt and shake... but don't always add the salt.

Redcrayons · 02/08/2026 20:03

Salt and vinegar, always. Ready salted if they aren’t available, cheese and onion, never.

SquigglePigs · 02/08/2026 20:03

Walkers cheese and onion

Plain/ready salted from anyone else

dontforgetme · 02/08/2026 20:04

Salt and vinegar all day.

Goodluckneighbours · 02/08/2026 20:04

You buy all 3 and mix them in a big bowl. Duh.

Ipsevenenabibas · 02/08/2026 20:06

As a child it was always salt and vinegar. As a young adult, ready salted. These days it's cheese and onion.

BettysFondantFancy · 02/08/2026 20:07

Same as you OP. Always used to eat cheese and onion but now I only ever buy ready salted.

ThingsCouldBeEasier · 02/08/2026 20:08

Plain.

Oh my god - I'm nearly 60 and I have never done this! A lifetime of regrets!

Asda Exceptional Plain/Sea Salted
Piper's Salt and Vinegar
Don't like cheese and onion.

CrypticClueless · 02/08/2026 20:21

Plain!

ExOptimist · 02/08/2026 20:23

Any flavour other than ready salted/plain is revolting. But plain salted crisps are divine, don't care if they're walkers or a fancy brand, all plain crisps are excellent.
