I’m on the verge and not sure if it’s being in a 32 deg room all night or I have a bug.

My heads banging too!

Yes it's brought on a migraine which has caused me to vomit.

Rainallnight · 24/06/2026 07:16

It could be heatstroke. Look up NHS advice asap

Dolphinnoises · 24/06/2026 07:17

I drank loads of water yesterday and mostly stayed in. Terrible headache today regardless.

Devilsmommy · 24/06/2026 07:19

Yep, felt awful and projectile vomited everywhere. Cleaning it up was a nightmare 😭

Clickrodio · 24/06/2026 07:20

Yep rather pregnant and spent some time last just vomiting as I was far too hot

CarolinaLeah · 24/06/2026 07:23

I’m so annoyed as I also stayed in yesterday apart from the school run, drank LOADS of water and kept a fan on me all day.

Sorry to hear this is a thing and hope everyone feels better soon.

I am dreading the school run and work today…

Check the nhs advice on heatstroke, it can be serious. Also consider whether you really have to be in work today - if the heat is affecting you so badly, could you call in sick?

Goldengirl123 · 24/06/2026 07:47

No but all I want to do is sit in front of a fan

WeddingInvitation · 24/06/2026 07:48

Make sure you have salt and sugar too,not just water. You might need a rehydration sachet. Or flat fizzy drink and a packet of peanuts or crisps.

CarolinaLeah · 24/06/2026 08:25

@WeddingInvitationnever thought of that thank you.

My role is to do with SW for the LA I struggle to call in sick as I know I’m letting others down!

Salt depletion, low sodium causes an absolutely awful headache.

Get that salt in.

Heat stroke is always an emergency - but symptoms are cognitive changes/reduced consciousness or seizures. It's when the temperature control system has broken and cannot function. You will NOT be functioning. This is a 999 situation.

Heat exhaustion is the early warning - symptoms of nausea and vomiting but you are still sweating/functioning but tired (thus the exhaustion) . Stop moving, get somewhere cool, cool shower, feet in cold water, cold drinks etc.

I had a migraine last week as the heat was building and ended up vomiting on Sunday but since the heat has been worse this week I’ve been okay.
Hope you feel better with some water and rest

Agree. I ate some crisps and a few sweets yesterday as well as drinking loads.

Sprite is very good for helping with rehydration - the regular one, not sugar free. I was given that tip by a holiday rep in Greece once.

Thanks for that tip about the salt. Found some crisps in the cupboard. For the first time in my life I don’t feel like them at all but if there’s a chance they’ll help with this headache, away we go…

toomuchfaff · 24/06/2026 22:27

If you dont want to have salty things then coconut water or coconut milk is good for the electrolytes; not the artificial sweetened stuff, theres one called Plenish that is lush

Holymolymoon · 25/06/2026 19:38

I had to suddenly get off the bus to get a drink yesterday as I thought I would be sick otherwise.

HurdyGurdy19 · 25/06/2026 19:44

Not vomit, no.

But I do get a fair bit of diarrhoea. Thank goodness for Imodium.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 25/06/2026 19:44

No but DD(7) had a bit of a funny turn last night. Came over all red and sweaty and said she was going to throw up. She didn’t, and she perked up fairly quickly after we lay her down with a fan, wiped her down with a cool cloth, gave her some cool water to sip etc.

Just came on to say the same - I’ve had the squits for weeks now

Itiswhysofew · 25/06/2026 21:46

Haven't vomited, but have had a couple of spells of feeling nauseous.

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 25/06/2026 21:55

I fainted in the gp surgery today. Had blood pressure taken, felt a bit sick, threw up, fainted again. Was told it was the heat.

I hadn't felt unwell before I went - I'd gone for a dressing change. Was sitting in agony 1hr 20 min in a stifling waiting room as appointments were running behind - was told it was due to there being a student sitting in

came out to the car park and H had gone home - had to walk home Confused

mambojambodothetango · 25/06/2026 22:00

Not this year but last year I did, on holiday in France after canoeing. I'd had a hat and suncream on and we'd been partially in the shade. But somehow I just got really hot and 🤮

MenoOCD · 25/06/2026 22:38

Yes, I felt very queasy at work today with multiple ovens on for four hours. I stopped off at Tesco on my way home just to wander around and enjoy their air conditioning. Felt better after that and a cool shower when I got home and something to eat.

PurpleLovecats · 25/06/2026 22:54

I get diarrhoea and feel very nauseous. I am on bp meds and antidepressants which probably doesn’t help.

AImportantMermaid · 25/06/2026 23:34

There’s a bug going round. I had it last week and gave it to my partner. Violent projectile barfing. You should isolate for two days - it’s very infectious. The heat doesn’t help but there is a proper bug.
