The three sisters who died in the sea in Brighton

This is sooo dodgy. There’s no recent photos of them, no one knows why they were there.
They were fully clothed. Handbags on the beach.
Their mum was found dead in a lake 16 yrs ago in Birmingham.
Police have reviewed 100’s of hours og cctv footage and nothing.
What the actual fuck?!

Did people learn nothing from the Nicola bulley speculation. This thread is shameful.

i feel like these posts are pretty performative tbh.
Did people not learn from Nicola bulley- what does that even mean?

There is no "middle of the night" mystery here. Brighton is a 24hr city. There is never not people on the beach. That Withernsea link is very relevant here. Two girls posing for photos at the sea edge with a steep drop off, powerful waves and a strong backwash. One girl and two rescuers drowned. Pretty much the same circumstances in the same conditions with the same result.

People seemed determined to make more of this than it needs to be. It's a tragedy not an entertaining melodrama.

If there were so many people on the beach that night then why wasnt there a single witness? why did noone see them

Yes and the police mishandled Nicola Bulley's case - they were heavily criticised over it

folie a deux? (Excuse my horrible spelling!)

Someone earlier mentioned the two sisters found in a river a few months ago.

Folie à deux, oui.
Folie à trois? Less common.

EBearhug · 29/05/2026 08:08

I don't drink. But I have occasionally stayed up to the small hours talking with friends or family. Alcohol isn't a necessity for that.

Both are uncommon. But if anyone is a contender, sisters who do everything together are a strong possible.

nothing needs to be common about this. The truth is stranger than fiction as they say. If this was a common everyday occurance we wouldn’t be talking about it.

Maybe people did see them but don’t remember. There are so many people on Brighton beach. I was on Brighton beach yesterday evening. I walked past hundreds of people, I can’t remember what any of them looked like

But surely you'd remember seeing three people fall into the sea or cry for help?

People are acting like the beaches were packed full of people when this happened. They werent. There were most certainly not "hundreds" of people about when this incident happened

Not packed full no. But I have definitely seen people on the beach at 1-2 am.

it would likely have been quite dark when they were there. It’s not easy to see people in the dark either

Delatron · 29/05/2026 08:25

There are currently no witnesses or sightings of them. It’s once thing to get annoyed by people speculating what happened but don’t change the facts.

If one of them fell in there would have been screaming and a commotion - if there had been other people around do you not think they would have shouted for help??!!

Oh they are deaf now too are they? And the sisters decided to not call for help or shout.

And all these people on the beach forgot to tell the police they were there. Right.

Sorry….why are you being so aggressive? What is your theory of what happened?

do you know the Brighton beach area. It’s a very long area. People could have been on the beach , but not near where they are

its clear the beach was neither crowded or dotted with people. I don’t know if you realise you’re coming across like BB is swarming with people 24/7, maybe you don’t mean it t up sound as certain or dogged as it appears online

Yep, and this happened on a cold Tuesday night. The beach won’t have had many people around.

HoraceCope · 29/05/2026 08:37

i am sure in the very early hours of the morning, found at 4.45?
there would not have been many people
who knows when they went in to the sea

Exactly - it was 4-5am and that night was not warm and balmy like the weather is now- it was cold and the sea was rough

WonderfulSmith · 29/05/2026 08:52

Between the pier and the marina tends to far more empty, than between the new and old piers, even on busy days. During the night on a cold day I can’t imagine that many people being on that part or the beach.

I dont understand this sentence: "The court was told the occupations of the three women, who were all born in Luton, were unknown"

Eh? surely their family would know what they did- I thought Jane was an accountant?

She could have qualified as an accountant but that doesn’t mean it’s what she did for work.

Yes but then why say "unknown"?

WonderfulSmith · 29/05/2026 12:21

bluelightsky · 29/05/2026 12:14

Because perhaps they don’t know. They might not have been working, they could have been signing on, doing something illegal or doing ministry work for the church.

If any one of us decided to drop out of society we might not tell our family that we have left our jobs.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 29/05/2026 12:26

This is sounding stranger and stranger.

I presume they lived independently? Together?

And I’m intrigued by this younger sister in the US. If she went missing aged 15, with or without her mother, the mother is in the UK now, so how did the 15 year old get to the US and get a job? Lots missing here.

Scarlettjune · 29/05/2026 12:29

It's sad. It does sound strange.

But I've heard a local rumour that one or more of them fell of something into the sea. So it could just be that.

Yes, all true. All three having no occupation is not of itself weird.

It's that the usual social markers of adult life seem completely absent from their public story. No friends have commented, no partners, no work colleagues, no jobs, noone from their church has given tributes etc
