To be secretly hoping our summer flights are all cancelled and there’s a travel ban

This is awful to admit but I’m secretly hoping something happens and we can’t go on our booked holiday in August.

Because of a difficult teen we pretty much only holiday with friends (she is so awful if it’s just us) but that means compromise - so we didn’t choose the location.
I hate hot weather, it wrecks my skin with eczema. And the chalet site has terrible reviews.

It’s seven weeks of school hols so we have to do something but honestly dreading it. Might have to do something drastic like break an ankle two days before….
i know I’m being ungrateful so this is lighthearted honestly.

Just cancel it. I get what you're saying about your teen. But eczema/hot weather and a crappy hotel sound like a hellscape.

Blimey, imagine disliking your kid so much that you’re already dreading time away with her in the summer. I couldn’t put myself through that.

Yes I know wishing won't make it happen and thousands of people wish for many evil things. But why spread such unnecessary negativity? As if there's not enough of it in the world. Plus surely OP didn't expect everyone to join in and be like,yes of course! Those who see the fun in it are free to but equally there are many of us who find such a post complaining about a holiday, stupid.

No one ‘has’ to go on holiday it is a choice that you make

Oh do get a grip. ‘Ruin summers’? It’s only a holiday. If a cancelled holiday ruins your summer, I would suggest that you have bigger issues
