What exercises (weights) should I learn at the gym?

I’ve got myself some PT sessions at the gym with the aim being to give me confidence in using weights. I’m worried about form, in particular when using barbells.
I've dumbbells (up to 20lb) at home. At the gym we’ve done barbell deadlifts, squats and split squats, some exercises using the machines (face pulls / rows).
I was thinking I should ask about barbell rows and bench presses maybe? Any other suggestions?

the aim being that I can confidently go to the gym, lift heavy and not get injured!

I would also chuck in some T bar rows and dumbbell work like shoulder presses or Arnold presses and dumbbell chest presses too. It's good to cover lots of things, especially things you can do with your DB at home. Kettlebells are also great fun! You could also ask to learn how to clean the bar and do front squats or squat presses too.

Shoulder press, overhead press, sled if they have one (dead simple but useful to know the variety of push/pull options), other dumb bell variations: thrusters, devil's press, snatches.

Also some mobility work to keep everything healthy.

Sounds good! They do have a sled - and kettlebells sound fun. I have a peloton sub at home so I can use their classes. Clean the bar? Devils press? Thrusters?! I’ve lots to learn..

Much YouTubing later …
thankyou both, that’s given me lots of ideas!
Im particularly keen to learn how to do things I can’t do at home - barbell and cable machines for example.

@JeanGabin you might be better off asking the PT what they would recommend for your preferred outcomes rather than being too specific - you might as well get the full benefit of their expertise based on the equipment available. Good luck!
