I'm in my 50s now and while Ive always been strong and lifted, Ive noticed that I'm losing my grip - literally.

I cant undo jar lids or other things like I used to and i feel my fingers are weak.

Can anyone recommend any equipment i can use to improve this?

I googled but there's such a variety I'm not sure which to choose and the choice served up when i google grip strengthening for women was a wall of pink things.

At home or in a gym? You can do farmers carries with dumbbells or kettlebells. Hold the plates in between your fingers (weight ones not dinner ones). Or you can get spring like things you squeeze.

At home (I dont have plates).

I'll give the springs a go.

You could get a really big water bottle and carry that round in your fingers too.

Are you on Instagram? There's a guy I follow called the Raspberry Ape, he's a grappler/wrestler and he does loads of grip training. While what he does is pretty excessive, he has some great ideas and always encourages finding ways to train at home without special equipment. For example two of his main techniques are- getting a bucket of water and an old towel and practice dunking it and wringing it out, and holding a hammer that has a decent weight to it and rotating it while keeping your arm straight (so the power is all from the wrist)
For finger tip strength, holding something slightly unstable in your fingers (especially while walking) is good - eg an upside down water bottle and holding it with your finger and thumbs pointing down towards the floor.

Hmmmm, I get my grip strength from just doing it while doing heavy lifts. I really noticed the "newbie gains" in the first year of deadlifting as I went from 40 kilos to 70 kilos.

And as @RayKray says, also the accessory work such as a farmer's carry. That is the best way to develop grip strength.

Some brilliant suggestions here. Thanks!

If you're looking for something to help your grip strength while lifting heavy then get some lifting straps

No, its for everyday, general strengthening, for example, opening jars of marmalade.
