Not in a serious way but I bought a couple of Sonny Webster programs in lockdown.

Oh me! I used to do a bit but the gym i went to closed so it's taken a long time to get back to it. My PT told me yesterday that her rack, bar and plates will be delivered in a couple of weeks so we're going to get stuck in then. I used to be able to deadlift 75kg so I'd love to get back up to at least that.

Are you doing it solo or with a trainer?

Rollerbird · 29/08/2020 18:00

I've do crossfit but feel my lifting is weak and we don't have any lifting specialists.
Ive started with an online coach, and I'm really enjoying it.
Those sonny Webster programs look interesting. Which did you go for and how are you finding them?

Got a deload week this week on 2 rep max for deadlift, back squat and strict press.
Looking forward to some gains next week!
(I will be shocked if my press improves though.. It's so tough!)

@Rollerbird - I got the home mobility and broomstick lifting package just to work on mobility and form until I could get back to the gym and to a PT. I like his programs - they are challenging but approachable.

@spodge
Do you need equipment of any sort for the mobility?
What do you think it has helped you with?
I had toyed with the idea of romwod etc but they are subscriptions and so I prefer the idea of a one off payment.

@Rollerbird - no. The home mobility programme was designed to be done at home in lockdown, so he might suggest you get a couple of books, or a can of beans or something. If you happened to have a step or a foam roller at home to use instead, all well and good. You definitely need a long-ish stick, such as a broom handle or walking stick. There is also a "full" mobility course but I doubt it needs much more in the way of equipment.

I already had pretty decent ankle and hip mobility, though he works on all of that, but my overhead was not so good and it has certainly helped with it.
