Jsmith your answer is so predictable and unoriginal!

Just because a person is psychic then it doesn’t mean that they predict lottery numbers no if he could, then I’m pretty sure he’d keep those to himself!

My little brother has no reason to lie to me, his big sister, he doesn’t charge for readings and actually hasn’t given any for over 2 years, he gets pissed off when I ask him to give me a reading now, the last reading he gave me was about how my ex partner and I would finish, this was when I had just started seeing him, I asked him to tune in to me and he did and his prediction was ‘a terminal illness will end the relationship’, well after he told me that then I was convinced that I was going to get cancer and die, what ended up happening was a member of our family got diagnosed with a terminal illness, I told my then boyfriend about it and he was completely unsupportive so I finished with him, therefore my brothers prediction was absolutely right on the money! Due to my worrying about having cancer etc, etc, then he said that he doesn’t want to give me a reading again and he always gets really bad headaches after he gives readings, he gets feelings around him about people and also predicted that his friends hamster would die and it did, it was only 5 months old, there are a few other predictions that he has had for others but I cannot remember everything he told me, I only remember the main one about my partner and I finishing.

Not everyone can speak to the dead at all, the dead person knows who they can communicate with, if we could all talk to the dead then we all would have done it!

Not everyone has the gift, there is also different levels of being psychic and if your a little psychic then you have to develop it and it’s quite hard.

IHeartArya · 18/08/2019 21:19

@Cocobean30 that’s my main worry - demons. I don’t but then I’m not in a great place at the moment...

ashtrayheart · 18/08/2019 21:46

Nobody can speak to the dead because they are dead.
People either think they can or worse, pretend that they can.
Why do people still believe when the likes of Derren Brown show how it's done?!

Cocobean30 · 18/08/2019 21:55

@IHeartArya I wouldn’t go to any psychics hun as you are inviting negative presences in to your life, giving them permission by opening yourself up to it. Whatever you’re going through, you can find help with God if you want to seek it. You can find the strength in yourself to overcome any troubles you have now, I promise :)

Livpool · 18/08/2019 21:59

I've had a number of of psychics refuse to read me. This was when I was 15 or so (my DM was/is into it all and I often tagged along)

I am 39 now so assume they didn't sense I was to die soon 🤷🏼‍♀️

IHeartArya · 18/08/2019 22:28

Thank you

I wasn't there for a reading I was just accompanying my mother but this woman was having none of it and I had to stand outside her house she wouldn't let me in even to wait in another room

Like the time when I was in a group. I wasn't allowed over the threshhold when everyone else was let in.

yellowsubmarines · 19/08/2019 11:08

I am a complete skeptic BUT I did go to a reading once for a bit of a laugh. I'd seen the psychic on a news program and she had a reputation for being 'very acurate'. She was in a town about 100 miles away from where I live and I was going to that town for a work meeting in the next few months. When I booked the appointment by phoning all I said was 'Hi, I would like to book an appointment for 13th or 14th afternoon if possible? Ok, 13th afternoon is fine at 2:00pm. My name is 'Yellow' (first name only).' and she asked for a way to contact so I gave her my new mobile number which I had only gotten 2 weeks before. I never said where I lived, why I was going to the area, my surname or any other details about myself. The conversation lasted about 1 min and all I gave was my first name (which is a very common name) and new mobile number. I don't think there was any way she could have found out anything about me prior to my appointment.
I turned up at the appointment and I had no jewelry on, I wore plain trousers and top, nothing to indicate anything about me at all. I wasn't going to ask a question or information for anything or looking to make contact with anyone, I was just going to see what she would say to me. So when I walked in she said 'Ok, let's get started. Do you have any questions for me?' I said 'No'. She first looked at my palms, then she did the cards then she said she needed to hold a personal item to get a reading off of it. I didn't have anything so gave her my cardigan to hold.
Throughout the meeting she came out with the most amazing stuff. She said I'd had a horrible break up with 'John' and that 'John' really did love me but there was a situation he needed to address first and he never should have written the letter, but he would come back into my life one day and I needed to make a choice. (This was all true. Every intimate detail she said was true! I nearly fell out of my chair because how could she know 'John's' name or all the details of our break up and what happened afterwards? She then started saying 'I know you will always love 'John' and he will always love you, but there is someone else for you who will treat you better and is a better life partner, but it is your choice. This new man will come into your life soon and he won't be what you expect (she gave me a full, detailed description of what he looked like, what country he came from, his name and what type of job he did) and you will have two sons with him and you will cheat on him, but he will forgive you and you will have a happy life with him.' Shock

About 3 years later, I was in the area again so decided to go back to that psychic as I could never get that meeting out of my mind. The second visit was horrible. She said she 'couldn't read' me and she 'wasn't feeling anything today' and she started talking about my medical condition and giving me advice about that as in how to live my life to best support that condition. (eat healthy, exercise, low stress-the types of things my GP would say) It was a bit strange that she knew about my condition (it's a particular heart condition that I am suppose to be too young to have). I didn't go there for medical advice, so I started asking about this new man I was meant to meet as I never did meet anyone with that name from that country in that job field. She said 'Oh no you've missed your opportunity with that man, he's no longer an option for you, nor are the two sons you could have had with him. He's married someone else now. Maybe you will meet someone else.' Apparently I wasn't 'open enough' to meeting him so he's disapeared and she couldn't 'see' anyone else in my future. Hmm

I never went back.

Inappropriatefemale · 19/08/2019 11:27

Psychics have told me that you can change your destiny so when they give you a reading and their prediction for you doesn’t come true, and then you go back and you get told it’s gone, then this obviously means that what was for you, went by you, thus stamping out that saying ‘what’s for you won’t go by you’, well yes it did go by me because we must have changed our destiny/fate blah blah blah.

I don’t know how some people are still skeptics even after the psychic tells them a shitload of accurate information that nobody else could have told them, I actually believe some people are genuinely freaked out by people that can predict others’ futures, it is pretty freaky when you think of it.Hmm

Is anyone here into Numerology? OMG there is a fantastic numerology site (numerology.com) that gives you your life number, soul urge number, expression number, etc, etc, and it tells you a little, but enough, of what the numbers all mean, it’s so damn spooky because it was me to a T, it was £7 for a more in-depth reading and I am going to go for it, the weird thing too is that I did the numbers for the man I love but I’m not with him, and his information totally coincided with mine which makes me think ‘we’re meant to be’, and this wasn’t like a compatibility thing or anything, literally you just put your full name at birth, your birthdate and time and then boom, all the info comes, and it’s numbers for a lone person at a time so it’s not like it was tricking me.

Inappropriatefemale · 19/08/2019 11:29

...it’s my crazy mind that tricks me...Grin

LilQueenie · 19/08/2019 13:27

If you want to know whether a so-called ‘psychic’ is really speaking to a dead person, ask them for a very specific piece of information that they could only know if they were genuine, eg, the name of the deceased’s childhood pet or their mother’s maiden name.

Not true at all. You can sense, hear, see, smell or feel emotion. Those are the main ways of spirit communication. depending on which is your strongest that is how you will communicate so if you want exact names and address then thats not likely though very few have been able to. It also depends on what the spirits abilities are. They have to learn to communicate to us its not automatic. So imagine a blind person and a deaf one. how do you communicate if seeing and hearing is the only way? You need to find another medium/psychic with a different strength. And you certainly wont get the lottery numbers. From their point of view everyone would be doing it and happiness doesn't come from money.

In the 50's my mum,her sister and 2 cousins went to see a medium when it was illegal.
Before they went grandma asked her to ask about auntie Gerties money.
As mum was leaving the medium said to mum you have something to ask me.
So mum asked and was told it will come through before you get married.
Mum and dad had only been courting for a month. But she got pregnant with my brother and 3 months later got married.
The money came through on the Thursday as she got married on the Saturday.
Also one of the cousins was told very forcebly to get out. She died within 2 weeks.

Another was a gypsy came to mums door to sell heather, she said to mum you have a son in the army don't worry he will come home safe.
My youngest brother was only 6 months home when this happened.
25 years later his tank was blown up in Afghanistan he was the only surviver.

Mum (very non woo) had a medium at her wedding - no idea why, think she was a member of staff at the pub - and my paternal grandparents (who were pretty unpleasant to mum, as a side note) asked if she would do a reading for the happy couple. The lady looked at mum and said no - I'm sorry I won't/can't, she looked profoundly, deeply sad as she said this, mum reports.

Mum and dad had waited ages (years) to be together and dad died very young, 10 years after they got married. Me and my sister were still pretty young and it devastated mum.

Mum says she wonders if the lady could foresee this but didn't want to burden them with the future.

I've always thought, if people have a genuine 'gift' in this department that its quite something to carry through life -a very mixed 'blessing' shall we say.

Obviously there are a million fakers but I do think there are a few genuine readers - the trick is how do you sort the wheat from the chaff!

Answers on a postcard if you've figured it out.

KisstheTeapot14 · 04/02/2021 11:34

Not saying OP, that something bad will happen!

Just an experience to relate.

It could well be that the ones you have seen are fakes and know who they can't cold read you or something more prosaic. I wouldn't 'read' too much into it - ha ha see what I did there?

You could try a spiritualist church if you wanted to pursue. Even then its hit and miss. Have heard some quite specific things during their meetings and there is no charge.
