Why won't psychics read me

Been to a couple of different ones like a room full off 30-50 ppl and she kept looking over to me and my mam and said we are blocking her from reading us .. Iv been read once but nothing that he was saying made sense and did not say anything to me that I could take

I want to go ASAP.

I had had 3 tarot card readings and each one has turned out to be true, these were all through phoning them.

I really wanted to see a woman a couple of my friends saw.

One had a rather generic reading which did come true which I think even I could have said what was going to happen but the other (single mum to 3 dc, no qualifications, in rented accommodation in a not great area, on benefits) her reading was at the time bizarre.

Who she would meet.and she would have another child

Totally unbelievable. She was turning 40 single and more children was not on the cards

Then a couple of months later a friend asked her to go partners with her on a small venture.

It was meant to just be a bit of extra income so she could go on holiday with the children.

The business took off and she met her dp when she went to a company for financing

Think the big house is on the cards as well as is another child.

@Inappropriatefemale - how did the telephone readings work? I can see how face to face would but I’m intrigued about the phone call. I’ve been thinking of seeing someone for a while. There is a psychic fair near me next month & I may go.

IHeartArya a telephone reading should work the same as other readings by picking up on the energy but its harder to do for some.

I haven’t ever been told no, but often I’ve had psychics say that I should be reading them, not them reading me! And it’s true, I’m very good at picking up on very small clues and “tells”. I could “read” for a stranger right now and have them tell me their whole life story in just a few words. You’re already showing susceptibility by just going to a psychic night.

“You’ve been hurt before, haven’t you?”
“People don’t always listen to you, do they?”
“You don’t always tell people how you’re feeling, do you?”

They all get people talking and I’m good at listening. Maybe other people can sense that in me too.

And if I kept getting it wrong?

“You’re very hard to read tonight. My eye is being blocked.”

It’s also quite hard to read for a child as young as 12, Oliversarmy. They usually don’t have the same amount of memories, experiences or dead relatives to link to whatever vagueness you’ve said.

Vulnerable people are much more susceptible. Someone who is happy, healthy and on the ball is unlikely to fall for cold reading unless they have very poor critical thinking skills. Even intelligent, educated people are vulnerable at some point in their lives. It is this need that confidence tricksters use and they get very good at smelling out pain.

True, but you just vary the schtick. You do more of the generic emotional stuff. Kids are easier to convince, but it would be obvious to an adult present what you were doing.

Strangely I’m always the one telling people not to see medium/clairvoyants etc as you don’t know what you are meddling with. I also don’t like the idea of disturbing the dead but life is difficult at the moment....

its not disturbing the dead though. You can't make them do anything. They only come through if they choose to.

I really just feel like, if my dad (passed when I was 12) wanted to make contact with me, he just would.

He would not wait until I had paid £50 to a dubious person to tell me a very cryptic message in the local pub.

Yes I understand what your saying IAmPickle but only some people can communicate with the dead which is why you would pay money to someone else, that can speak to the dead, to communicate with your Dad, and get messages from him. Sure your dad could probably send you ‘signs’ in the home, like moving things about, etc, etc, but unless you have the clairvoyant abilities then he couldn’t speak with you.

Frankly I believe that some people have the ability to speak to the dead because otherwise, how on earth would they know certain things, they wouldn’t.

Obviously there are cowboys in all professions and psychics are no different, you know they’re not cowboys when they tell you things that come true, trial and error and you should always go to a psychic through recommendations from people you trust.

So-called ‘Psychics’ use a technique called ‘cold reading’ to con the gullible. If they say you are ‘blocking’ them, that means they don’t think you are suggestible enough for them to get enough clues to read you.

If you want to research cold reading techniques, Derren Brown has written a very interesting book and made videos on the subject and Penn & Teller have done their usual brutal debunking on TV.

If you want to know whether a so-called ‘psychic’ is really speaking to a dead person, ask them for a very specific piece of information that they could only know if they were genuine, eg, the name of the deceased’s childhood pet or their mother’s maiden name.

I can absolutely, 100% guarantee they will never be able to tell you.

You get believers and non-believers, I have had 5 readings done over the phone and 3/5 were correct in the things that they said, the only issue is is that they got the timeframe wrong, but they were correct, and it wasn’t generic things that they told me either.

I don’t understand how people don’t believe when their predictions come true! My stepfather always says “ahh they’re just guessing” because he is a total non-believer, but you can’t just guess these predictions I was told, he just cannot accept that some people are psychic.

Could you please ask your brother to predict next week’s lottery numbers? That should be pretty straightforward if he is genuine....

Psychics that are genuine are talking to familiar spirits aka demons. Our relatives can’t contact us from death. It is familiar spirits masquerading as such. Therefore perhaps you have some kind of positive block ;) Either way you shouldn’t visit them as you are messing with something your can’t control.

I personally think that everyone can speak to the dead, people who think they are psychic just want it more. I read my own cards because I think the cards are the vessel, not a random person. I like that they are just pointers or guides to be interpreted and taken as you wish, rather than absolute “future” told by someone who doesn’t know a thing about you.

Lots of people who have read for me and been correct (guessed correctly) ask questions as well, I’ve been to lots of events at the psychic church and they are always asking.

“He had a dog, can anyone take that?” Hands go down until you find someone who fits the brief. Then usually it’s a ring or a watch that is either a) handed down and in the persons possesion - he wants you to cherish that or b) lost and not in the persons possession - he wants you to know you should have had that.

Or do you know anyone whose name started with an R, can anyone take that? He’s telling me you should look in the shed, he left something there for you. Yes JUNK. Of course you’ll find something in the shed 😂

Losing my dad young throws psychics reading me as well. I remember one when I was 17 telling me a Grandad was looking down. I said specifically, all my grandparents are living, are you sure it’s not a father? hint hint. She said oh no, definitely not. Even now they tell me my dad might be ill soon, he should go to the doctors. Yes... nearly 30 years too late, dear. 😂
