I discovered this phonomenon by accident a while ago. I love Liverpool generally and I am fascinated by this. Has anyone got any theories or had any experiences? I like the idea of time looping back on itself and different times existing at the same time <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.co.uk/url?q=www.reddit.com/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix/comments/6408e7/bold_street_liverpool_uk_time_slip_central_caused/&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwid6rL-9pLVAhUlD8AKHfXnAgAQFggbMAU&usg=AFQjCNGwAY6EoMs2QgFnOYkDvqzsYTJOYw" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">Liverpool Time Slips

Thinking about the off duty policeman in Liverpool...they can verify that Caplan's and Cripps were shops in 1950's Liverpool, but not where they were? How come? Surely there are people still alive who remember that street in the 50's and which shops were where? Or old photographs?

I'm thinking of the High Street in my home town, which has changed a lot in the last 50 years - but there's plenty of evidence of which shops 'used to be' where, and people can remember too...

I have loads of old photos of Liverpool including Bold Street and I definitely have one with Cripps store in. My mum remembers it too. You're right, it does seem an odd statement Zaphod.

Every time I walk down Bold Street I think of the time slip stories. I'm torn between wanting it to happen and being terrified of it happening too!

I've experienced a few unexplained situations around Bold Street in my time. But I think it was more to do with beer, wine and/or him from the local hostelries Hmm

Thanks Spam. I've fallen in love with a flat overlooking the Mersey and the three Graces. I love the idea of sitting by the window watching the ships and the changing weather then later watching the lights of the city come on. Is this a just a romantic image? What would it be really like living right in the centre?( apart from loud, being higher up, less noise I would think)

Also how long would it take to get to the beach from the centre, say Formby or Crosby? Is it easy to find work?( I don't have much of a work history) Thanks.

I'd love to live somewhere like that! Not sure how loud it would be, it'd depend on which area of town it was in I suppose.

Crosby would be about 15-20 mins fromtown, Formby about 30 I think.

Can't help with job situation I'm afraid. Although I did notice a few shops in the city centre were looking for staff, I don't know if that gives a general indication of the local job market or not.

So actually, I'm not a lot of help, am I? Grin

If it's Herculean Quay then that's out of town so it'll be peaceful. In the opposite direction from the city centre on Riverside Drive there's a nice park area called Otterspool. The time taken to get to Crosby is driving I'm afraid!

I grew up a few miles outside Liverpool but all of my family are from here. I've lived in various places but always wanted to live here. It's great here, the people are friendly and there's loads to do. The shops are good, there's loads of great restaurants too. I'm sure you'll love it!

Thanks Spam, that's useful to know. Yes, I'm amazed at the amount of things going on in Liverpool. And the people are so friendly, a man from the Maritime museum once invited me in for tea after seeing me outside looking cold! It'll be greatSmile

This will be outing so I'd better name change soon! But I experienced a time slip in London about 15 years ago.

I was sent on an errand to another office so left work on a bright clear day. I worked in the Cheapside area of the city - where a Christmas Carol was set. I walked up Cheapside/ Poultry in the direction of Bank of England. To my left was a street that was either Old Jewry or the street adjacent to it. So I take a short cut up that street. Nice day, escaped from the office, stills fairly new to London and loved it - all was good. Walked up the street, all fairly bland offices, modern and tall. I was the only person on the street. Suddenly out of nowhere I felt the most indescribable terror come out of nowhere - I almost expected to hear someone shout 'run'' It felt like something or someone was coming for me. I glanced at the offices but suddenly they were different - they were lower than ground level so that the pavement bisected the windows, and the buildings were now old - they looked like old fashioned sweet shows with those windows with the small square panes and occasional round bit jutting out. All around me I could hear noise - hustle and bustle, hooves on cobbles, barrels rolling, voices talking and shouting out to each other. The sky was dark and the air thick with a brownish mist (smog?) My head was hurting and I just lost it and ran towards the end of the street like my life depended on it.

And then everything was normal. Sky was normal and blue and clear, buildings were as they should be, no noise out of the ordinary. My headache went instantly, my feeling of terror went instantly - I felt completely ok. Freaked out by what just happened but completely my normal self.

The funniest thing was there was a chap smoking across from me and as I stood there baffled he jumped a mile and said 'where the hell did you come from?!' When I told him he said he'd literally just walked out of there and there had been no one there - so now as well as my own time slip I wonder if I feature in some bloke's story about the girl who appeared out of thin air!

Wow, Have, what an amazing story. Sounds like that was medieval period. It's just fascinating. Has anything like that ever happened again?
