London Protest Police Horse which Bolted

I am not able to load the videos of what happened due to dodgy internet connection, I have seen some photos. Can anyone update on the condition of the horse? The poor thing looked looked so frightened, am concerned for the horse and it's rider. There are also conflicting reports that the horse trampled a protestor, and another that a protestor was bitten.

@BuntysBumperAnnual

Of course we're concerned about the horse .. this is the 'Tack room'

It's akin to crying 'but all lives matter' when talking about The BLM movement!!

Avenueofcherryblossom · 08/06/2020 12:33

This photo is circulating on Facebook. The attached post claims the circled protester fired a flare at the police horse. It looks like the horse which bolted. If that’s the case the rider didn’t stand a chance.

I’m just pleased the horse was uninjured and had the common sense to whizz off back to its stable and best wishes to the PC recovering from her injuries .

MaggieMay1972 · 08/06/2020 14:28

Police Officer was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken collar bone, broken ribs and a collapsed lung so if thats not seriously injured than I don't know what is ?.

ITonyah · 09/06/2020 12:52

People generally love the police horses. Letting kids pat them and ask their names etc. They help the relationship between the public and the police.

Throwing bikes and flares and punching them is disgusting, no excuse for it at all.

ITonyah · 09/06/2020 12:54

Good to know that a horse running around is a priority concern, rather than an unarmed man being killed by a knee to his neck

Don't be pathetic.

missmouse101 · 09/06/2020 13:06

I feel so worried for the beautiful horses, it really is terrifying for them even though they are trained. They are still flight animals who will revert to instinct. I also hate seeing the severe bits they have to use and in most of the mid action photos, the horses' mouths are wide open to try to lessen the pain/discomfort when the rein contact is applied heavily. Sad

Hoggleludo · 09/06/2020 13:25

Can someone explain that to me?

Now I've had horse ALL my life. I've ridden police and army horses.

However. Why did the horse bolt. Those things are bomb trained and all sorts. If you watch the other videos. Even when things are being thrown at them. They hardly react.

I'm wondering if it was either o horse still in training. Or not?

Hoggleludo · 09/06/2020 13:26

I'm saying. Yes. The horse would react. Those bikes are heavy. Strong

But for it to run back to the stable?

Destroyedpeople · 09/06/2020 13:35

Yes that was a 'boris bike' that got thrown. They are very heavy.
Don't think a well trained police horse would 'run back to its stable ' tbh.
They should stop using horses as weapons tbh.
All this 'poor horsie ' stuff has been calculated to tug at horse loving brits' heart strings tbh.
Is everyone..I mean everyone so concerned about the 'beautiful horse' not on HRT ?
Because that would be outrageous hypocrisy. Have a look and see how HRT is prouted. I wouldn't touch the stuff.

Destroyedpeople · 09/06/2020 13:35

Hoggleludo · 09/06/2020 14:08

@Destroyedpeople

Yeah. That's stuff they get from mares

Horrific. Horrific.

ITonyah · 09/06/2020 14:11

Only Premarin comes from pregnant mares.

There is plenty of hrt which doesn't use equine oestrogen.

Perhaps educate yourself a bit?

thenightsky · 09/06/2020 14:14

*@ChristmasCarcass@ I remember the battle for Orgreave. Thatcher was quite happy to use the police as her own personal army. They didn't just trot those horses at the crowd, they fucking galloped them!

Fivefourthree · 09/06/2020 14:14

Premarin is one brand of hrt that is 'farmed' from mares.
I don't think they all are. I remember petitions about Premarin from some years ago (agree it's awful, I'm just not sure it's all brands)

Abraid2 · 09/06/2020 14:15

You're very out of date. Most HRT prescribed in the UK and Europe comes from yams not mares' urine.

Abraid2 · 09/06/2020 14:18

HRT has come on a long way since its original use of bovine ovarian tissue (extracted from cows) and pregnant horse’s urine (popular in America). Today, the vast majority of the commonly prescribed UK and European HRT formulations are plant-derived and come from the oestrogen-rich yam plant.

Destroyedpeople · 09/06/2020 14:46

'Perhaps educate yourself a bit' ...I have. Don't try and patronise me.

Destroyedpeople · 09/06/2020 14:50

'Most ' 'some types'...'only premarin' ...thar doesn't make it ok......some of you seem so mealy mouthed...
If people were that bothered about horse welfare they would 'educate themselves '..

ITonyah · 09/06/2020 14:52

If people were that bothered about horse welfare they would 'educate themselves '..

Yes, I did, before I took it. Most usually prescribed HRT comes from plants. Your information is very out of date.

Destroyedpeople · 09/06/2020 14:55

'Most'...'usually'...

ITonyah · 09/06/2020 14:58

Yes. Basically all except Premarin and the few derivatives. None of which are widely prescribed in this country. I don't take it and its never been offered as an option. There's plenty of info on the British Menopause website if you are interested.

FabulouslyElegantTits · 09/06/2020 15:02

@DestroyedPeople

Premarin is ONE type of HRT, don't scaremonger.

mencken · 09/06/2020 15:04

wow, that's a really nasty set of injuries for the policewoman. Even a broken collarbone can cause a lifetime of pain. the broken ribs certainly will be a nightmare for a while. Poor, poor woman who has all my sympathy for injuries incurred while doing a job that most of us would never have the guts to do.

SoVeryLost · 09/06/2020 15:08

That’s not remotely true. The police horses round near where a friend works the police are completely anti my DS or my friends DS even talking to them. Like screamed at seven year old DS to get away.
