Hi, this is my newly purchased foal. He's 9 months old and just the sweetest, kindest, most laid back little guy.

But he has no name!

I've been wracking my brains for the perfect name but I'm drawing a blank! He's a purebred (registered) New Forest. He has an official name but not a day to day one. The official one can't be shortened.

Or Eddie?

Strategicchoring · 24/01/2020 17:31

I came across a horse called Palmer today. Would that suit? He's gorgeous btw!

Nomorechips · 25/01/2020 23:21

Or Ziggy like the zigzag across David Bowie face?

RB68 · 25/01/2020 23:23

Cloud

Walter. With Walt or Wally for short.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/02/2020 00:43

I see a Bert we had a guinea-pig called Bert (DD named him) it's a good solid name for an animal Grin

I thought Moses when I saw the picture .

But if course if someone asks his name you need to harness your inner Mandy/Terry Jones and say "Erm Brian"

So Brian

Biddie191 · 03/02/2020 13:14

How is he bred? ((Fellow New Forest owner here - always interested...)

SeaGale · 06/02/2020 19:22

Biddie - I'll dig out his passport and have a look.

He's called Monty and he's just glorious, I'm in love 🥰

Is his new stable-mate blowing a raspberry?

FleasAndKeef · 06/02/2020 19:56

Just seen the update! Monty is an ace name! He is lovely 😍

Biddie191 · 07/02/2020 09:54

Monty really suits him.
I have Daisy (Backley Firecracker) who is by Crabbswood Zeus, and Broccoli (came with the name, it stuck...) who is Brock Black Wizard, but I can't remember the sire from the top of my head, will have to look it up.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/02/2020 10:38

He's a Rufus

Biddie191 · 07/02/2020 11:39

Daisy is a FAB name, I love it, and she looks absolutely gorgeous! How old? How tall?

OP posts:
SeaGale · 07/02/2020 13:01

Lord - I hadn't even noticed that! 🤣

Lordfrontpaw · 07/02/2020 13:14

Aw bless the wee soul on Daisy! How old?

Nofunkingworriesmate · 07/02/2020 13:17

Phantom as in phantom of the opera ( white mask) Tom fur short
Guinness gin
Gump ( forest gump)

Biddie191 · 07/02/2020 13:21

Daisy is 13.2hh, she's 12 this year, she was 9 in the pic. She's in foal now (time out as she injured her check ligament) so fingers crossed we'll have a fab little sports pony to break in in a few years time.

SeaGale · 07/02/2020 15:34

13.2? Goodness, she looks bigger.

In foal - how exciting! Will you produce it yourself?

Biddie191 · 07/02/2020 17:17

Hopefully - or at least my daughter will - that's her riding in the photo, when she was about 11. Hoping that the foal will make 14.2. Sire is a TB 15hh, so all being well should make a nice pony club pony or sports pony.
