Oh yikes, have set date for next weekend. It's not a trauma is it? I know where the passports are. Transport is arranged. Flu, tet and worming up to date. There is nothing I need to do/think about is there? Other than look forward to new life there? And clear my field of poo that morning?

Be thankful that you are escaping the yard nutter (if there is one which I'm sure there is because every yard has at least one).

Pixel · 26/05/2011 20:22

So if there is only one nutter at her old yard, she's now got to be worried in case there are two at the new one? Grin

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 26/05/2011 20:33

Good point. But there is a grace period before the yard nutter latches onto you... :)

Pixel · 26/05/2011 20:44

Not so. Our yard nutter always latches on to new people straight away. She has to get her claws into them before anyone else gets a chance to warn them about her.

MitchiestInge · 26/05/2011 21:15

Stop it! I so obviously AM the yard nutter! I hope the people at new place don't notice, they probably won't, they are horizontal.

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 26/05/2011 21:31

So will the old yard be heaving a sigh of relief that their nutter has moved on? Wink Little do they know that the position of yard nutter is NEVER vacant for very long...

Pixel · 26/05/2011 21:50

We have quite a few nutters, it's just that one of them is Queen of the Nutters. She should have a badge or something.

Mitchy, in comparison you are only a nutter's apprentice.

Pixel · 26/05/2011 21:51

Is that how you spell dyeing? I tried it without the 'e' but it looked too much like you'd been murdering ponies. Hmm

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 26/05/2011 22:19

Pony colouring? Highlighting?

MitchiestInge · 26/05/2011 22:28

It looked like I was murdering him at the time didn't it! Am sure dyeing is right, but anyway, is that it? I just load them up and go on the day, dragging my three million rugs and 80 feed bins with me? It feels too easy . . .

OP posts:
Pixel · 26/05/2011 22:30

Yes, that's it I believe. Then you leave your poor bewildered horses in a strange place and go home and fret. In the morning you will find them acting like they have lived there all their lives. Smile

Pixel · 26/05/2011 22:34

Oh and you will have to introduce yourself to about a hundred people (who will be secrety trying to suss out if you are a nutter) and your face will hurt from smiling because you won't want to seem unfriendly on your first day.

MitchiestInge · 26/05/2011 22:37

Oh god, what will they make of the enormous 200 year old cow who lives in their field? And the sheep? Having traumatic flashback to day pony chased my terrified spaniel round the field, trying to stamp on him. Oh god.

OP posts:
MitchiestInge · 26/05/2011 22:40

I couldn't be unfriendly if I tried, it's trying to keep friendly within normal bounds and not hug people unnecessarily or link arms with them or, worse, do cartwheels. Argh. The other place coped with me, on the whole. I will just try really hard to be normal until am part of furniture!

HerMajestiesSecretCervix · 27/05/2011 11:16

How did the move go? All done and dusted?

MitchiestInge · 27/05/2011 12:01

Haha, that would be funny. I'd be mortified but it would be hilarious!

Am not even moving until Next Saturday, so will be long tedious week of me posting about various of my neuroses until then. Still can't believe my luck, have asked around to see if anyone knows anything bad about these people and all I hear is 'you won't get in there, it's very sought after' (fab location but facilities wouldn't be everyone's ideal). Need to ask Butkin if he has any info, is unusual not to have picked up any stories about such a well established yard so far. Unless all is actually as it seems, a nice friendly and laid back place. Hooray!

OP posts:
Butkin · 27/05/2011 12:15

Sorry Mitchy you're going have to give me a few more clues...! Can you give me a location?

MitchiestInge · 27/05/2011 12:21

Yes, is at Winston Hall, short hack from Topthorn. Old horsey family, hunting, BE - map shows what a fab location it is, is strange that nobody anywhere has any words of warning so far!

OP posts:
Butkin · 27/05/2011 15:21

Sorry Mitchy - too far our of our territory. We go to Topthorn but don't know the area very well although did have a horse with Moggy Hennessy when she wasn't too far away so know it is a lovely part of the country.

ManateeEquineOhara · 30/05/2011 08:22

Hahaha @ the 'a nutter has just moved to our yard' thread.

Have you had a sort out of your stuff??? I had an enormous amount of junk at my old yard, there was no way I could arrive at the new place with all that in tow.

OMG- having looked at that map, I am incredibly jealous!

MitchiestInge · 30/05/2011 11:12

Oh man. My stuff. Have been trying not to think about that!

It was one thing when had land rover(s) but wheelbarrow, a hundred rugs and all those storage bins in my 2+2 convertible? Yikes. Had better start thinning some of it out a bit now.

OP posts:
Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 30/05/2011 11:59

Cant you stuff it all in the trailer and make another run?

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 30/05/2011 11:59

PS. Grandmas definitely shouldnt drive convertibles! Grin

MitchiestInge · 30/05/2011 12:12

Ah but I'm just a young slip of a grandma Wink

OP posts:
ManateeEquineOhara · 30/05/2011 12:25

I couldn't fit my wheelbarrow in my car, I was going to wheel it along the road to the new yard but I was saved from looking like a loon with a wheelbarrow by someone with a 4x4 - Borrow someone with a 4x4!!!
