Will post this on the end of the other thread too but I have just found this:

If you are identified as a contact and asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, including by the NHS COVID-19 app you may be entitled to a payment of £500 from your local authority under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has been told to self-isolate you may also be entitled to this payment.

^Presumably that is all of the 'thought' that has gone into the situation I've been talking about. Still doesn't tell us if we would be seen as taking unauthorised leave or able to work from home or anything - need union specific advice on that.

Hope you aren't feeling too awful this morning @MsAwesomeDragon.

DreamingofBrie · 19/09/2021 09:16

Hope you're feeling better soon, MsAD, and that your dd is ok too.

We have two teachers off sick with covid now, that I know of, don't know how many pupils but I've been running some of my lessons as classroom and Teams lessons in the last week. Guidance around who we are supposed to dial in and who we aren't (who is sick, who is self isolating, who has covid and who doesn't) are confusing at the moment. When my dc were off sick at various points last week I did not expect them to dial in, they spent most of those days asleep.

JanglyBeads · 19/09/2021 09:29

Apparently iSAGE this week said to look at rising rates in Leics, where schools have been back a month.

ChloeDecker · 19/09/2021 09:45

Yep, I’ve been doing that too, with the list of pupils off with Covid that staff get emailed daily ever growing. It’s such a stressful experience for all involved!

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2021 09:55

We did dual lessons on teams and in the classroom in the summer and it was shit for all concerned, the kids at home (not that many logged in), the kids in the class and definitely the teacher.

Thankfully we don't seem to be going that route this time, work will be set centrally for each year group to access should they need to and we're not monitoring it.

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2021 09:59

Hope you fell better soon, MsAD. Just read your post on another thread and it does sound grim. It really isn't 'just like a cold' is it?

Teachers are basically being lined up to catch it over the next term. I'm so angry at the lack of care.

WhenSheWasBad · 19/09/2021 10:01

We do duel lessons. I end up forgetting about the kids at home and start modelling stuff on the white board.
Not helpful for the kids at home. Need to make an effort to use the visualiser more this week.

Leicestershire go back early. Not remotely surprised they’ve seen and upsurge in cases.

WhenSheWasBad · 19/09/2021 10:02

And then we will get blamed for school closures when there aren’t enough staff to open schools. Angry

DanglingMod · 19/09/2021 10:03

We're not doing online whilst in class for kids off any more. If they're off now, they're ill. They're not isolating as contacts any longer, so it's ppts/links/worksheets/videos etc. None are doing the work so they must be ill.

MrsHamlet · 19/09/2021 10:13

We're not doing hybrid... just set work on teams but don't chase.

Mistressiggi · 19/09/2021 10:23

I'm sorry to hear you are positive, MrsAD. I hope it passes soon and that you feel fully recovered before you go back in, do not rush back. FlowersCake

Mistressiggi · 19/09/2021 10:24

We have a Monday holiday here so Sunday doesn't have the usual sense of doom. I can gauge my stress levels by just how bad I feel on a Sunday Sad Pretty high at the moment!

CallmeHendricks · 19/09/2021 10:30

Who would have guessed?

Appuskidu · 19/09/2021 11:10

Ooh, it’s Molly, ‘I’m just your average concerned mummy on the playground’ Kingsley again!

ChloeDecker · 19/09/2021 11:53

Fucking hell (scuse my language). Right there in black and what what we suspected but I am still so incredibly shocked and upset by that. How fucking dare they and shame on Mumsnet for allowing them such a platform to infiltrate so many threads too all this time, for their dangerous campaign.

Hercisback · 19/09/2021 11:58

Found you all!

Sorry for your positive MrsAD, hope you feel better quickly.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 19/09/2021 12:04

There's an Us4Them bod in Health at the moment - has been there shouting random shit for about a month. I notice they are in the thread about open evenings. I had to tell them that I was going to ignore them.

Even went down the route of saying that we shouldn't be testing children due to the plastic waste produced by LFTs.

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2021 12:21

I thought I knew who you meant, Rule but can’t find them posting in Health. More than one of them, great.

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2021 12:52

Ah no, same one. Think a few of us have clocked them, I’m also trying to ignore.

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 19/09/2021 16:10

@MsAwesomeDragon I am the opposite of you 4 positive lfds and 3 negative pcrs this week. My symptoms are: headache, body aches, fatigue, blocked nose, no sense of smell, cough, temperature
Symptoms have gone through the whole family. Each person's lfd lines appear and get stronger as their symptoms come on. Lots of positive lfds all round and all our pcrs are negative.
Totally confused here. Anyone got any ideas?

Saucery · 19/09/2021 16:27

Shit batch of PCRs?

Tailrunner · 19/09/2021 17:23

I have come down with my usual start of term cold. Mild temperature, headache, snotty nose and sore throat with a bit of a cough if I'm talking too much. 2 negative LFTs and I'm pretty sure it's a cold - am I okay to go into work tomorrow? I'm wondering out loud rather than asking for medical advice. The guidelines are a bit woolly and with all the colds that are bound to start circulating soon it's going to be a confusing picture this term.

MsAwesomeDragon · 19/09/2021 17:49

I'd do a PCR tailrunner. Your symptoms sound like my symptoms on Friday, when I tested positive on PCR, but still negative on LFT. You have a temperature and a cough, so you need a PCR and should isolate until you get the results.

Tailrunner · 19/09/2021 18:33

Thanks MrsD, I had gone ahead and booked one just to be safe. I hope you feel better soon.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/09/2021 21:34

My idea is that they're so far behind trying to deal with pcrs that they're just telling people they're negative. Hope I'm wrong obviously and am mostly joking.
