You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask. Finally, upload your covid test results twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Someone's been messing with the chairs...

HarrietDVane · 02/07/2021 22:09

Thank you for the new thread, Staff! I've just caught up with the 62nd... I may never recover!

Well anything to deflect from a potential summer of mixed messages and u-turns. A couple of weeks ago it was thank-a-teacher day now we have a poke-a-teacher-in-the-eye days. This has aggravated my whiplash injury that I got for DfE u-turns last year.

Are chairs in / out ? Who knows?

I suppose what we will not get in the staff room is the dodgy holiday spirits that people sneak in because they don’t want them at home 😂

Thanks staff.

Government and DfE literally couldn't be worse.

Mistressiggi · 02/07/2021 22:29

Don't say that Herc, they will view it as a challenge!
Thanks for the new thread Staff Smile

DreamingofBrie · 02/07/2021 22:44

Thank you Staff.
I've quite a chilled weekend planned. Only 7 lessons to go, I can almost taste freedom!

Talking of Martine McCutcheon, I saw her in My Fair Lady in the West End. She was very good! Dh has am irrational fear of her, for some reason.

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/07/2021 22:50

Thanks for the new thread.

It was me who got coconut scented loo roll and discovered that it’s only the cardboard core that has the perfume....

Thanks for new thread Staff.

Thanks staff.

Primary bubbles going pop here.

Have just realised why you were all discussing snogging MG, now he is back on the market SmileEnvy

Nutters, the lot of you.

My trip to the chemist may have involved 'just stopping for a quick pint' that turned into several. Waking up at midnight and thinking it's morning is quite disorientating then reading about people snogging gav and gove...

2 weeks to go. Hopefully no one has to resort to snogging government ministers.

Monkeytennis97 · 03/07/2021 01:20

Thanks Staff!

TheHoneyBadger · 03/07/2021 01:23

Hope you feel better soon Monkey and that your ds is doing ok.

motherrunner · 03/07/2021 06:46

Morning all.

Indulge my non teaching post... 10 years ago today (at 35 weeks pregnant) I complained so much about a backache that wouldn’t go that DH took me to hospital. 48 hours later DD was here. I have a child who is nearly double digits! 😳

Right back to DfE hating!

Hercisback · 03/07/2021 06:53

Happy (almost) birthday mini mother.

Weather is naff here today, classic weekend.

motherrunner · 03/07/2021 06:57

Weather rubbish here too. Tbf, it always rains for DD’s birthday! We have outside parties being July but have had to erect shelter! One year it was torrential downpours!

We’re taking her and a friend climbing tomorrow. Thunderstorms are forecast 😆

DreamingofBrie · 03/07/2021 07:54

Your thread titles are always very astute, Staff. It's 2 weeks till the end of term for most in England, so I'm expecting some sort of fuckwitted half-baked announcement about contact tracing in about 10 days and nothing about Septemver until around 25th August. Bank Holiday weekend should do it nicely.

Appuskidu · 03/07/2021 07:54

2 weeks to go!

DreamingofBrie · 03/07/2021 07:55

Happy weekend birthday to minimiser, motherrunner. It's scary how quickly they get to double digits, isn't it?

DreamingofBrie · 03/07/2021 07:55

Minimiser? Mini-motherrunner!

RigaBalsam · 03/07/2021 08:02

Thanks staff

Aww happy birthday little motherrunner. I’m almost jealous of the rain. It’s been so dry here everything looks a bit parched.
