Becoming a teacher

Hello hoping to get the experience and wisdom of current teachers

I have done a degree in health and social care, I hopefully intend to end up teaching R.E/ philosophy & ethics age year 7 upwards.

Do I do a teaching qualification focusing on health and social care then in my free time pursue further education in religious studies or take a university recognised qualification in religious studies and then follow my dream of teaching.

So as not to drip feed I already have a 2:1 BA degree in health and social care and did philosophy and ethics at a level.

I was advised to pick the most open path possible but now it seems to have limited me.

N.b I graduated over five years ago but have never had a job within the industry I have been managing pubs / restaurants for the last five years

TIA
