You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Wow re Ofsted. Is that def true?

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 10:22

*@BelleSausage, On the "other" thread, you mentioned your school's part-time model and that all work is handed in online on a Friday.
When are staff meant to mark that work? Over the weekend? Making a 7 day week?

noblegiraffe · 17/10/2020 10:22

This is the Ofsted inspector closed school www.stmarys.islington.sch.uk/school-closure-from-friday-16th-thursday-22nd-october-2020/

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 10:23

@noblegiraffe

OMG
That's interesting - we were discussing that in school only yesterday. Our entire SLT and admin staff all sit at fairly close quarters in the same office. If one goes down, they all do, I presume? Although we all predict that our HT would continue to come in to school regardless.
BelleSausage · 17/10/2020 10:24

@CallmeAngelina

We have an online portal and we’re just ticking off it’s done, except for end of term assessments.

I think if we move to blended we’ll have Wednesday between bubbles to do prep and mark. But they won’t be getting any homework. All we do now for homework is check it is done. They do self corrections.

@noblegiraffe

OMG
Bloody hell - that is a disgrace! What procedures COVID-secure procedures are ofsted following?

Shock inspections up here cancelled indefinitely, which makes me half relieved and yet half cross that it’s safe enough for us but not them?..

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 17/10/2020 10:30

Ha ha ha ha re Ofsted! Bloody typical.

Our head had a meeting with a PHE person there on this week talking to all the local heads. Friday she tells us how we have to keep apart, not use staff room etc. Getting a wake up call.

Same head who snapped at me when I asked how lesson obs would fit in with bubbles/distancing etc earlier in the term. Deputy laughed at me when I tried to keep 2m away from her.

They are changing their tune now.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 17/10/2020 10:31

Half term for us - we were told to take everything home in case half term is ‘extended’ - books, laptops etc

Tier 2

Half term done here... on the loooong road to Christmas. Feel like lying on the floor and having a tantrum 😫

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 17/10/2020 11:07

@DollyMixtureLulus seems reasonable enough to me. Go for it!

noblegiraffe · 17/10/2020 11:23

If I lay on the floor it would be to have a nap.

monkeytennis97 · 17/10/2020 11:26

😂😂Ooo it's all fun on the NEU thread!

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 11:29

I must stop rising to the bait.
I must stop rising to the bait.
I must stop rising to the bait.

noblegiraffe · 17/10/2020 11:31

God I should stop starting threads, you could all be doing something more productive....

monkeytennis97 · 17/10/2020 11:36

thank you @echt ❤️

monkeytennis97 · 17/10/2020 11:36

@CallmeAngelina 😂

monkeytennis97 · 17/10/2020 11:37

@noblegiraffe 😂 nah just hoovering...

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 11:40

I'm putting off getting dressed going to the supermarket.

ohthegoats · 17/10/2020 11:46

I've just had an hour at a climbing wall. Good way to get out some aggression, but won't be able to move my arms tomorrow.

Our safeguarding folk are staying well apart so we'll ideally keep a DSL. One of them is a bit of a sicknote tho, and the other was shielding, so....

MrsHamlet · 17/10/2020 11:47

Go for it, Dolly. It won't solve anything but it might make you feel better

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 12:39

Any idea which of us is being effectively accused of bullying over there? Not sure I can be arsed to engage with her any longer.

noblegiraffe · 17/10/2020 12:41

Me, Ange. Bullying posters by responding to them when they roll up and post shit on threads I started.

CallmeAngelina · 17/10/2020 12:44

You know you've hit a nerve when you call them on something and then they ignore it or leave the thread.
Bit like that poster (can't remember who) who accused you of calling kids precious "a lot." She never retracted it, despite being proven wrong.

BelleSausage · 17/10/2020 13:00

I wouldn’t bother with that poster any more. They post the same cycle of posts on all the school threads. It is pointless arguing with them. They are just making themselves look foolish now.
