Looking to organise my school wardrobe, need some comfy shoes for school. To wear with trousers mostly. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Hotter for the classroom (I have 5 or 6 pairs of 'Jewel' in different colours - pricey but they last for ever...I've been in teaching 10 years and not replaced!) Decathlon trainers for walking to and from school (cheap and surprisingly comfy).

Fitflop shoes are the way forward. So so comfy!

I bought these having seen them recommended on MN. I like the high cut.

I have about 5 different pairs of DM’s (shoes, Mary Janes and boots) that are super comfy and go with everything.

I'm now of an age where those red or dead shoes would make me look odd (I'm 56). Haven't yet resorted to my gardening T shirt or shorts you'll be relieved to know! It's hard to get the balance right but in my primary school most (decent) clothes are fine.

Leather Converse (silver or white) with wide legged trousers, patent leather loafers (previous season M and S) or boots, ankle or knee high.

Toms do some nice shoes :-)

Flagsfiend · 22/08/2020 12:34

I love these, very comfy and go well with a dress and thick tights or under trousers. I'm a science teacher so wouldn't have bare legs for safety reasons (although seeing as no practicals now due to covid I guess I could this year). www.clarks.co.uk/c/Matron-Ella/p/20355292

@Juiceey

I also live in these red or dead jades and they are sooooo comfy for my wide old feet. I have them in red and black! Love them with tights and a dress.
I have those in a number of colours and was heartbroken when my purple ones finally gave up the ghost. I also find Art Company shoes very comfy.
PeachiceT · 26/08/2020 10:38

I love sketchers shoes so comfy and I also have walking boot style ones for forest school .

HedyPrism · 26/08/2020 11:41

I wore dark grey Van's on placement in a school with quite a strict dress code. I do have a back problem but didn't need to play the injury card as no one said anything. I have some DM Polleys and they are lush but they are very heavy and not quite worn in yet.
I've a pair of Clark's Hamble which I find good, also some loafers (I think called Iris?).

Newnamenewopenme · 02/09/2020 12:33

What shoes look good with cigarette style trousers? I look ridiculous in any other style trousers but hate brogue type shoes so am struggling. I would like a change from dresses and boots everyday!

CuckooCuckooClock · 02/09/2020 19:55

I like these from Uniqlo with cigarette trousers. Like putting on slippers. But I’m told by my podiatrist that my gamble oak brogues are better for my feet.

Hamble oak brogues

Newnamenewopenme · 03/09/2020 12:08

@CuckooCuckooClock oooooh I like them! Will order a pair later on today I think. Thabks

NeurotrashWarrior · 04/09/2020 09:00

I'm falling apart and just bought some black ASICS. Under long wide leg trousers or leggings.

We can (sometimes must) wear trainers though!

Local shoe shop lady recently said a local hospital consultant would have all kids in ASICS so I'm working on that theory!

Skigal86 · 06/09/2020 09:09

I got the shoes I wanted as a 12 year old but wasn’t allowed! Grin black patent kickers Mary Janes, they are SO comfy! I wear black toms in the summer usually and have some DM knee boots for when it’s colder.

ohthegoats · 06/09/2020 10:57

I have bought these:

And these:

www.rocketdog.co.uk/products/april-silver-princetown-slip-on-trainer

Because I can get away with them in this weird interim weather period when it's too cold for Birks, but not boot weather yet.

tumpymummy · 08/09/2020 00:28

Fit flop rally. Technically they are trainers but because they are leather they also look like a shoe. Comfy from the first time you wear them.
