Mine are :-

Teenage boys hiding each others things and finding it hysterically funny!
Children who with plenty of work to do in Year 11 saying to you "I'm bored".....like I'm some kind of performing seal there to entertain them and not help them pass exams.

As someone who's done a lot of supply can I add lesson plans left that start with the phrases:

"They know what they're doing" (they might - but they'll collectively develop a nice case of amnesia or they'll all have finished it in 5 seconds)
and the ever- classic "design a poster on... " (insert topic here - everything from the Romans to Herpes, Multiplication to Headlice gets the poster treatment)

When they come up to ask a question and stand in front of you doing that ridiculous floss dance. Stand still and make eye contact with me!

"Do I have to put a date on it?" Is there ever actually a time that I tell you NOT to put a date on anything? Do you see where I've drawn on the board what your page looks like and there is a date in the corner?

"Why haven't you started work yet?" "I don't have a pencil." Did you think about actually getting one out of the big purple tub on my desk that is there for people who lose their pencils ten times per day?

"How long until lunch?" Asked five minutes after they just came in from recess.

Did I mention the floss dance?

Mine is kids blatantly lying when you just SAW them do the thing you told them off for. E.g. ‘Jake please stop singing/stealing X’s things/playfighting/talking while I am talking.’ ‘BUT I’M NOTTTT!’ Aaaaaargh. Makes me feel murderous!

Trialsmum · 23/04/2018 20:46

“Can I start a new page?” No just carry on writing on the table!

IHaveACuntingPlan · 23/04/2018 22:34

When asked why they haven't written anything yet despite having been told to get on with it 5 minutes earlier they say, "I'm just thinking about what to write!"

MissMarplesKnitting · 23/04/2018 22:38

Ten minutes into lesson...."miss, have you got a pen?"

Finding pencil crayons left on chairs after lesson because they CBA to put them back.

TheThickenPlots · 23/04/2018 22:53

“I don’t get it” when you’re about a third of the way through your first sentence Hmm

SimonBridges · 23/04/2018 23:01

Now I remember why I teach 4 year olds.
Dealing with shit filled pants doesn’t seem so bad now.

VinoBlancoPorFavor · 23/04/2018 23:12

Students asking a question they've just heard another student ask just milliseconds before..... The answer will be the same!!!!!!

"Miss, I didn't need a wee at lunch but now I'm so desperate....."
Exactly 1.25 mins into the afternoon lesson. Everyday.

"My mum/dad/hamster says I don't have to wear school shoes/never read my home-school reader/learn my spellings/go to bed before 3am."
(Not child's fault, just frustrating.)

I have the p2 classes before lunchtime and there will be at least four that tell me they are desperate for the toilet before I've even started the lesson. So much time wasted.
Kids that tell tales on each other and then giggle about it before they have even finished speaking.
Those that sit for ten minutes and then tell you they don't understand when you are at their desk, rather than put their hand up.
Kids who will not pick up rubbish in the classroom and look aghast when told to do so! I have found a way round this though. Tell every child to pick up five/ten/fifteen things and the class will be spotless in seconds as they try to outdo each other in cleaning!
