Who's on countdown to Chrsitmas?

I am

10 days to work (9 and half really as finish at 12 on the last day!).

I'm so looking forward to Christmas and being able to relax a bit and catch up with family and friends.

The next two weeks will hopefully go quickly as I have a million things to do and being secondary need to keep the students focussed on learning until the last day so that might be a challenge but there we go.

I really can't wait for Christmas though!

A week to go.

I resorted to showing the film of Of Mice and Men today. I know, I know, rod for my own back and all that, but I just couldn’t pretend I had any energy left for a other hour. I didn’t even prod the three sleeping children awake. I envied them.

It's officially the holidays!!!

Tch. Not here it isn’t!

4 more days. I can kind of, sort of, almost see the light. Roll on Thursday 3.25pm.

I'm a long time MNer and don't want to identify my school, and you will see why. In Au, the academic year ends at Christmas, though many now have Headstart programmes where the next year's work begins three weeks before the end of the year. Hey ho.

Anyway, Headstart is over, and there's still a week to go. The school says formal teaching has finished, but any student is welcome to come in and will be cleaning tables catered for. No-one ever ever turns up. I don't know how they get away with it, but they do, and it's great prep time. No parent has ever complained.

To top it off, I'm taking long service leave for the last week, a superb Australian public service perk, so will miss five days of endless meetings. Yay!!!

4.5 days left - trying to make sure I do any urgent stuff for my TLR before I finish as I don't want it hanging over me during the hols!

Present shopping is all done and meat ordered at butcher's. Will brave the supermarket Fri afternoon for last bits.

Just need to muster the energy for the last few days with excited/tired kids.

We finished on Wednesday 13th. Back on the 8th for an Inset Day.

Don't finish until the end of the day 22 here, kids are riotous already, god knows what next week will be like.

Kids were very excitable today and I think that will just increase as the week goes on!

I am desperately trying to get all my important jobs done before the hols - making progress but still loads to do.

On the plus side, I have wrapped some presents tonight!

Have been humming the Les Mis song under my breath since home time yesterday.

2 more days to go! 2 days too many.

Carol services, Christmas fayre, parties and panto done.

Having a Christmas DVD, a performance from the high school and a toy day/jumper day over the next 2 days.

I will be sooooo ready for the Christmas holidays.

Half a day to go. Whoopee!
