We once had a behaviour management workshop where a woman with the most boring voice in the world read off power point slides telling us to make our lessons more interesting.
That was a morning well spent

we had our inset today and not a slide, powerpoint or piece of photocopy handout in sight.
Quite incredible really.

Amazingly, we were told the school was all about the children and happy staff made happy children or something like that. The head jabbed her finger at some paragraph in an Ofsted booklet that said so, therefore it was true.
She said we could read the school development plan online when we had time, but not today. Then we all sloped off to get on with what ever stuff we fancied(drinking coffee and eating the doughnuts she had bought in!)

bigbuttons I want to work in your school! It sounds like the one place on earth where you might actually be trusted to get on with things and do your job!

We had a whole hour and 20 minutes on a powerpoint presentation about data. I was counting open eyes by the end.

Yes but was actually very useful and interesting! And better still- pizza was provided! Result!

Unlike the bullshit at my previous school where we had to have make mind maps and have "thought showers" as we bonded as a staff!

Strangely enough the head who had organised this "valuable" training was never anywhere to be seen although someone reported seeing her hiding in the office gossiping with the secretary.
