This year, the one thing I am going to do differently is...

Anyone got any ideas of one change that will make a real difference??
My biggest change is to try not to get upset about little things and focus on PROGRESS for everyone!!

elephant - interesting about Google Drive. Might try that myself. Never used it to share.

elephantoverthehill · 31/08/2015 00:48

JenniferYellowHat It is working and I find it easier than 'My Big Campus'. My IT crowd have not been wholly supportive but putting e-portfolios onto disc is 'well easy'.

Hannahfftl · 31/08/2015 01:10

Report it properly every time I am bitten, kicked, smacked, pinched and otherwise assaulted
I let it go on for far too long last year as I didn't want head to think badly of the child. I obviously don't want this for my new class either, but it was so draining to be attacked on a daily basis.

ValancyJane · 31/08/2015 10:17

Put myself first. Selfish one, but last year was hell on earth and I didn't get much thanks for making it through. Am now pregnant, and will point blank be refusing to work through break/lunch/extensively after school. It is just NOT happening.

Also, keep my desk tidy!!

Howaboutthisone · 02/09/2015 06:24

Keep on top of the marking.

Use stamps and marking codes.

Use any frees effectively and be strict about this.

Howaboutthisone · 02/09/2015 06:25

Try not to let the buggers get me down. It's just a job ... and repeat!

ellaballoo · 02/09/2015 06:35

No moaning , no marking at home , effective use of ppa and one early finish a week will make me happier .

ellaballoo · 02/09/2015 06:36

Oh ..and no accumulating bags or piles of paper. This one will be my nemesis.

knitknack · 02/09/2015 06:45

I had a stamp made that says "verbal feedback given by Miss Knitknack, to improve I need to:" which I used for the first 2 weeks or so! Haha I need to use that more. Plus I've made a 'self and peer marking' checklist table mat thing to help them write more focused targets (KS3).

I've GOT to be more rigorous with year 11s that I know are having a hard time but are disrupting learning this year.

Finally I WILL keep going to my yoga class!! :) I will.

KinkyDorito · 02/09/2015 14:18

I have just ordered a stamp like that knit. I am determined to be better organised, use these things and actively seek out labour-saving devices Grin. I will still look and feel vaguely human by Christmas - I am determined!!

KinkyDorito · 02/09/2015 14:19

I said determined twice. That's how determined I am!

PicInAttic · 02/09/2015 17:51

Ellaballoo - are you me?
I am (in)famous for piles and bags with piles in them that I frequently carry to and from school.
Am fairly good at not moaning (much); never take marking home; am ruthless in protecting and using PPA and try to go home early on a Wed but the bags, the piles, the bags full of piles ...
I think the problem is I consider them a kind of filing and storage system Grin
Maybe we can share debagging and depiling tips and form a support group - a colleague is also keen to join!

Howaboutthisone · 03/09/2015 14:14

Oo where did you get those stamps made knit and kinky? That's just the sort of thing I'm after!

holmessweetholmes · 03/09/2015 14:25

Probably not very helpful, but the one thing I'm going to do is NOT teach in a secondary school any more. I'm going to be teaching some adult classes, doing some private tutoring and teaching Spanish for an hour a week at my dc's primary school. After 20 years I'd happily never step into a secondary school classroom ever again.

Howaboutthisone · 03/09/2015 21:55

Thanks Kinky- that looks great!

MrsUltracrepidarian · 07/09/2015 15:20

I said determined twice. That's how determined I am! Grin
