I'll bet the Miranda character derives such hope from the existence of Florence and the Machine.

Isn't Florence's mum an academic specialising in the Pre-raphaelites? I imagine she probably indulged the eccentricity of her daughter over the years.

Did anyone read the long Guardian interview about Florence trying (and failing) to make soup? Reminded me of all the floaty, artistic girls at college, who would ask me to help them operate the washing machine and suchlike.

Briliant, running around in her bra, she's really making an effort isn't she?
