... They are sisters of the soul. Florence is the fantasy that Miranda's comedy character dreams of. She canters. She has harps on stage. She bravely sings like a sheep - and people like it.
I'll bet the Miranda character derives such hope from the existence of Florence and the Machine.

I rather wish there was a Miranda episode with Miranda gamely giving Glastonbury a go.

You are right (except for posting it in here!). I absolutely hate her voice - would rather listen to Miranda H, which is (to quote the wonder that is Bananarama) really saying something.

I observed earlier that Pete Doherty appears to have morphed into Paul Merton, but can't find anybody to agree with me.

I was scouting the section like a sad little ghost, hoping for a thread on how to cope with the heartbreak of saying goodbye to class you are extremely fond of.
As you see, I didn't quite get the hang of the whole starting a thread thing.

Remus, she's winning me over. I'm clearly a bit vulnerable at the moment. I liked the foo fighters cover, especially with the 'feel the love' horn section!

Did Florence fall over? I missed that bit! I know what you mean about leaving classes you are fond of. They are casually asking me if they will have me again next year. I casually reply I'm not sure. We are all thinking 'I reeeealy hope so'!!!

i did it last week. trying to impress a bloke....lunch on the patio....prosecco....pate....toast......

my chair leg ended up over the step and i fell complete wih chair, plate and glass of prosecco. i bathed in it. how lavish.
the bottle survived. my white jeans didnt.

blokey just sat and watched me.....then said he was amazed by his lightening reaction to save me.
(he didnt even attempt it!)

it was very funny.

the week before that i fell of a plank. trying to walk over a building site. i stood too near the edge and the whole plank went taking me with it into a ditch.

i am a clumsy oaf. luckily im also very entertaining.

I once slid spectacularly down a full flight of stairs and ended up at the feet of some very startled Year 7 pupils, who picked me up and then carried on walking!

I think I read something from her mum once. In a Sunday supplement. I think I remember she seemed down to earth and concerned for Florence in a motherly way.
