So how long do you think it will be until they bring back Gove?

I'm sure he's waiting in the wings to step right back into his former position.

Nooooooooooooooo.

(Adult Education voice)

leccybill · 08/05/2015 07:43

I think he'll be sharpening his pencils right now. I'm gutted.

shinysparklythings · 08/05/2015 07:46

Absolutely gutted! All the crappy changes that horrendous man made to our jobs, to our children's education and prospects. I guess the only plus side is things might stay the same for a few years rather than big changes again. Surely they will realise that something needs to be done as teachers are leaving the profession by the thousands. HmmHmmHmm

GraceGrape · 08/05/2015 07:48

We can hope so, but I'm sure they've still got plenty up their sleeves.

Gove's got his eye on the big prize. He wants the Top Job. Education is tradtionally the willy waving ministerial post to show how tough you are.

I'm hoping he'll be put somewhere, anywhere other than education.

Katz · 08/05/2015 07:54

He'll be back by the end of the weekend, or whenever they announce a cabinet.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 08/05/2015 07:59

Aaaaarrrgghh! To hideous to even contemplate!

18yearstooold · 08/05/2015 08:01

I think he'll be straight back

Gutted!

WastingMyYoungYears · 08/05/2015 08:06

Oh God, how awful. I could weep (in fact, I have a little bit).

AuntieStella · 08/05/2015 08:14

They won't.

With a small majority, they'll need s totally different style of whipping, so it's likely he'll stay put.

RJnomore · 08/05/2015 08:15

Gives done his job anyway.

DoctorLawn · 08/05/2015 11:21

Saw this on Facebook -sums it all up nicely, I think.

So how long do you think it will be until they bring back Gove?
AmberFool · 08/05/2015 13:17

DH predicted a Conservative majority and is now saying Gove is going to be back. I sincerely hope not. Sad

BackforGood · 08/05/2015 13:25

I only commented recently how they'd been keeping him hidden away for the election campaign, but hoped they didn't wheel him back out after the election.
I just hope he's given another department to play with and leaves education well alone - we've suffered enough.

thehumanjam · 08/05/2015 13:35

I got the impression that DC found him to be really irritating. I may be wrong though.

MrsUltracrepidarian · 08/05/2015 13:46

He was hidden away for the election. He does not get on with George Osborne. I think he will be back, and will do a good job. He is genuinely passionate about raising standards for all children. That means change, and breaking the stranglehold of the complacent LEAs which sat back while schools wallowed in mediocrity.

Mostlyjustaluker · 08/05/2015 16:30

I agree Backforgood but then I think of NHS and trident and just hope they give him some really obscure role that will have the least impact possible. Let's hope he is not Dave's replacement when he steps down in four years time.

HumphreyCobbler · 08/05/2015 16:32

I thought they would probably leave him in the whips office due to the small majority.

toomuchicecream · 08/05/2015 17:24

I'm gutted at the result anyway and very concerned for the future of state education. Then I read this thread and I feel like weeping - stupidly, it hadn't even occurred to me that Gove might be back to fuck up education even more.

Redlocks28 · 08/05/2015 17:27

Yes-He wants lots of free schools and unqualified teachers. That worked so well, didn't it?

padkin · 08/05/2015 17:36

Toomuchicecream - I'm feeling exactly the same. My heart sank at the thought of Gove returning, and I feel a bit nauseous. I think it might be the nail in the coffin of my teaching career if he did.

IrenetheQuaint · 08/05/2015 17:38

I reckon DC might give him health or DWP. He was focus group poison at Education or he'd still be there.

peacoat · 08/05/2015 17:48

i can outright state that if Gove comes back into education (and I am just waiting for him to be wheeled out from behind the curtain soon) then it will be the last straw and I will resign teaching in the UK for good.

Hulababy · 08/05/2015 17:53

I don't think he will be back in Education. Not now.
I suspect he may stay where he is for now.
I'd be surprised to see him back in Education again now though. I don't think even he'd want it.

CharlesRyder · 08/05/2015 17:58

I am watching the twitter feed in actual fear.
